Biography
Talona Naga, Ona of the Houl Seedscar Fringes, Scarred Wasteland Hunter - She/Her Because of her gift, Ona has been a calm and persistent dragon her entire life. Many are often horrified to find themselves within her gaze despite her rather neutral intentions. Born in the flaming, decaying wastes of the Desolation of Algidir, she made her way north before her time as a hatchling had ended. "It is your duty to seek the Wyrmwound," Her mother had hummed, crest feathers flicking as her small hands were pressed to Ona's face. "Seek the Wyrmwound and find your power." Burn had kissed her with her coatl songs, then they were parted. The shimmering rune upon her palm reminded her that she was forever part of The Houl, never alone... but she felt very alone as a courier flew her in a balloon across the world. In the Scarred Wasteland they worshipped the Plaguebringer as mother. Ona had been presented by the courier to the great god and though she was terrified, the young wildclaw did not tremble. She had pleased the Plaguebringer and was trained in her service, exalted and honored. After some years she was released from her service and began a life of monster hunting. |
Sins of the Family The arrow ripped through the wet air and downed the viridbeast in whistling melody, igniting the nearby brush with a flash of brilliant green light. Each day they inched closer and closer to the Foxfire Bramble. One day the plagai would fail and the Seedscar would erupt once more. This one, however, was going to be lunch. Ona stepped out from behind a tree, wings tucked to her sides as she stalked forward. Twenty five summers as a hunter and the thrill of a completed hunt had never faded. The wet fangpines dripped louder than her footsteps and it made for a good morning haul. Rain was a clever hunter's truest companions She had enough to cover the daily bounty already. Approaching her prey she could see clearly the distinct hybrid traits so common on the scaled ones. This one had six small legs and a back that looked like mossgrown bark, long like a ferret with a snakelike face pulled into a snarl. Uniquely, it also had a thick padded tail with a sting at the tip. She scooped it up into her gamebag and travelled on. Up on the ridge was a small cabin, but... it was not safe to fly above this forest in bad weather. Even for a primal like Ona, the larger creatures which had escaped the glowing shell of the embassy were not things who's attention one willingly sought. Very few dragons could get off the ground with soaked wings, much less flee unknown horrors. The only way to a dry fireplace was an hour hike away from civilization, nestled up against the deep darkness of the Bramble. |
