Constellarus was born into a cult. From the day he was hatched, he was taught that one amongst them would receive the honor of becoming the generation’s Shade Speaker. He was not the one chosen; it was some other dragon, and for some reason he was relieved, even though he was to hope and pray to the Shade for their blessing. Perhaps he could tolerate this until adulthood, when he would discreetly leave before he was required to take a partner. That was not to be; one night, he was awakened by disturbing panting, witnessing the Shade Speaker that was chosen glowing with greenish white patterns, eyes burning feverishly, bloodied drool dripping down the Wildclaw’s jaws. Living in a Shade cult, one would be accustomed to many abnormal things, but this was petrifying. He did not quite understand what happened next, but in several seconds, the Skydancer had scrambled out of his window and shot into the air, barely escaping a vicious bite. The terrified dragon found himself realizing the hatred that the Shade had kindled in him. They were despicable, he decided. He established himself as a Shade hunter; a feared one. He changed his name to Stella, a rather unassuming name, so that one would not expect the sheer hatred he radiated. |

Asmodeia noticed it when she was freshly creating the Seraph Shard, and she would be a fool to pass this chance up. He rose quickly through the ranks until he’d become her ruthless, hateful second in command. He heard the news not long after. His past clan had been annihilated, completely destroyed, by a pair of vengeful Shade-touched dragons. At first, he thought it foolish of them; did they not fear him? However, once he saw the drawn pictures of them, and once he was told that Scorpius and Carina were his younger siblings, Stella was truly unsure. He knew they had almost certainly committed unspeakable atrocities — they were Shade-touched. And yet … they had destroyed the object of his nightmares. |
