Hope. It is the foundation on which we raise our budding youth. Without it, many of our kin would not be here with us.

DISGRACE. Tainted by a name, seared into the skin and embedded into the brain. Born of an armored egg cracked from an unknown force, she came into the world backwards. The label around her neck, scribbled poorly with the word 'D I S G R A C E', and the auction gavel crashing down, echo through her ears and burn in her eyes. A crippling paranoia, an unrelenting anxiety eating at her like grass moths to the plains. The thought of a curse cast upon her for being born left her in a state of half-awareness, half-dazed. Trapped in a death-grip of her own phobia cast by a jinx unknown, she entombed herself deeper into magic, potions, sorcery. Anything that could bring her a step closer to breaking the hex. Spending every moment believing to be ever-closer to that spell-break, she spent hours, days even, searching for any little ingredient that could prove beneficial for her healing. Searching along the banks of the river while the clan rested in the Gladeveins bestowed her the first child, the reborn Spiral named Zombie. Her powers evolved with her stain, becoming a healer with the ability to give rebirth to eggs too near-death to hatch, to hatchlings too weak to survive. Confused as she was, she accepted the unnatural healing talents, believing that her curse had been lifted by spreading a sense of undeath, or unlife, to children who had seemingly been nothing else but forgotten. Soon enough, the waters washed more discarded eggs to her abode. New children, bodies living in a new sense of the word, by her hands. She raised them, and they helped her, calming her paranoia and giving her a sense of peace.

Sad ever still that her own mind has convinced her she is some kind of goddess, but the clan feels as if this is much more tolerable than what she once believed...

Rebirth.
It's a constant in our lives; seeds sew, plants grow, they thrive, they spread, they pass, they are reborn from the seeds they've sewn from their former lives.

Resurrection.
It's a fear, a monstrosity. The nightmare in the back of the mind, the lingering dread, the mistake.
The foul taste in the throat, the chill up your spine.

Not to me.
The children I've mistakenly given new life to, are irreplaceable.
Perfectly imperfect, imperfectly perfect. Beautiful, and mine.

Magick is a force difficult to hone. Years, decades even, are needed to even perfect one powerful spell, one intoxicating potion. One gentle touch, a handful of soothing words.

Some say it came naturally to me. I was born with the power in the palm of my hands...

My hands do heal. They breathe life into what was thought to be unliving.
Near death, cracked and fading eggshells, small and nearly lifeless hatchlings.
All touched by my hands, all so much more than they ever could have been.

My dear children. Loves of my life.
I don't regret falling into the indulgence of the darkness that would be entitled necromancy.
In fact, if I hadn't, I would have remained alone, my name as my mark of shame.

Now it speaks as a badge of something so much more than just a speck of nothingness.

I am a mother, and even more, I am a goddess.
