Biography
Eli Henderson
Freaky Antique Dealer
-He/him, Questioning but likely Aro
-Hailing all the way from the Snowsquall Tundra, Eli Henderson is nothing short of wasted potential. A lot of people would argue you could say that about most jazz musicians (even if they're wrong). But you can definitely say that about this one. He was supposed to study law, under the advice of his mother and his teachers at school, told for years he had a great mind and attitude for such a field. And yet, Eli found his heart wasn't in it. It was so much stuffy paperwork, so many rules and boxes to work with, so many consequences for even the smallest mistakes. That wasn't the life he wanted. Music was, music is both chaotic and calculated and beautiful in its being so, jazz especially! He thought he had a real shot at making it with his passion and talent! .... Alas, it's really hard to make it as a musician already. He wasn't making money and the people in his life didn't want to support the law school drop-out's ridiculous dream. The bills kept coming and no one was paying. The side jobs he managed to get weren't enough to support him, rarely staying in them for long because of his rather unmangable personality and scattered priorities. He had dug himself into a hole with no escape. Until his Uncle Murray called, anyway. Said he needed help running his antique shop out in the Starwood Strand, and was willing to give Eli room and board if he'd head out there. And that's where he finds himself now. Toiling away the days in customer service glumly. Wishing for something more, wishing for that excitement he'd thought music would hold, but clearly lies elsewhere.... a distraction from the crushing failure of a man he is.
-Eli is a very conversational man, but that doesn't make him an approachable one. His general demeanour relays that of someone rather serious and proper, the kind of up-tight intelligent sort you'd really expect to be seeing working with antiques. It's when you actually talk to him, however, that you realize just how little sense there is in that mans head. Despite having the boldness and intelligence to be a successful man, he has constantly and continues to prioritize his own enjoyment above any other factor in life. Then satisfying his curiosity comes in close second to that. Though it once was just a flaw in his personality that made him annoying to work with, it has quickly evolved into something dangerous. He's at rock bottom. His life is painfully mundane and he is such a failure his own mother doesn't talk to him. The hand life has dealt is an unfair one. So... what's holding him back now? Nothing. He has no reason to NOT do whatever stupid reckless things catches his fancy. And that becomes dangerous when the people of the Strand dare to induldge his growing interest in the paranormal and supernatural happenings in town. He can often be found gossiping or sharing stories with anyone who will listen, spending his free time trying to look into whatever he can fully knowing and excited by the potential danger - which has fortunately lead to no trouble just yet. Everyone seems to be kinda avoiding him, after all.... augh. There has to be something more than this. Than just being another face in the crowd.
-Not Partnered, he's simply never cared to look.
