Yaguaro

Extinct Yaguarasaurus is a recently discovered mosasaur, a group of extinct marine reptiles that ruled the oceans in the latter stages of the late Cretaceous period (between 100 million to 66 million years ago. It had a long, slender body, similar to those of modern-day monitor lizards, although streamlined for swimming and having webbed feet and toes, and broad, powerful tails. Measuring between 4 and 6 meters in length, Yaguarasaurus would have been one of the most formidable predators of its time, with a diet that likely consisted primarily of fish. Mosasaurs disappeared - along with the dinosaurs - as a result of the mass extinction event that occurred roughly 66 million years ago, which is thought to have been caused by global volcanism paired with a massive asteroid impact.

Fun Fact: Yaguarasaurus was discovered on a hillside near Monterrey, Mexico, in an area that was once a shallow inland sea - known as the Western Interior Seaway - that split the North American continent into two landmasses during the mid-to-late stages of the Cretaceous Period.

Yaguaro came to live at Owl Wood in January, 2024, and within a matter of days, had familiarized himself with all the coastal waters that border the clan's lands. Although he spends a great deal of time in the water, his Wind heritage gives him an intuitive understanding of weather, both at sea and over land. Because of this, he has a knack for predicting storms in advance, which is, of course, very useful.
