Driven by desperation, they've spent all their life savings on a breed change scroll. It was supposed to turn him into an Imperial dragon, but alas! It was but a scam. Instead, the scroll turned her into a chimera - a dragon with a mess of features from different dragon breeds.

Strictly speaking, dragon chimeras are not an uncommon sight. Not everyone can afford to be a pureblood wildclaw after all. A low-grade breed change scroll may produce a chimera, but the results are rarely this severe. As different breed dragon pairs are common, most cannot distinguish mixed blood dragons from chimeras. Some dragons look down on breed changers, as it's viewed by them as an act of defiance against one's deity. Chimeras that don't resemble a distinct breed are despised even more and are subject to opression in some regions of Sornieth. Transitioning back to the original breed is a tough path for a chimera, as a custom breed change scroll needs to be made in order to untangle the genetic mess. Very few scrollmakers agree to help and even then they usually charge a ridiculously high price for a reversion scroll. As for Nonstop... The chances are slim to say the least. Only one dragon agreed to take on such a difficult task. |
