Biography
Maiden was born in a clan with a trio of female Ridgebacks she felt drawn to - they carried her same dark body and Circuit gene. She watched their actions as she waited for a new clan to make a name for herself in. They would 'borrow' from others and only return the stolen goods if called out, to which they would protest their intent was nothing harmful. She idolized these Ridgebacks as a hatchling, they were massive, hulking beasts to her who exuded a sense of coolness and independence.
She set out on her own one day, venturing to find a prize of her own to 'borrow.' The Ridgebacks had encouraged her, stating it would be a test of her abilities, and she could not belong with them if she failed. The young bat stumbled upon a lair with a tidy sum of treasure left in the open, prepared for use. She made off with one, large bag and dragged it back to the waiting Ridgebacks, who were giddy with delight she had done so well for herself.
But there was more treasure in a second bag. They told her she would be the best borrower among them if she could retrieve the other bag as well and sent her back into the lair to creep towards the treasure. This time, however, she was caught.
Tiffany sized up the bat, her fellow Wildclaws standing behind her on the offensive. The Ridgeback females watched on in horror, terrified this would be the end of their mimic. Other dragons from the lair slinked out of the shadows to watch the tiny Nocturne, sitting red-handed on top of the lone treasure bag remaining, surrounded by a hoard of Wildclaws.
One of the Ridgebacks leaped from the bushes, money in her mouth. She dropped it in front of the much-smaller Wildclaws, explaining the poor bat had chosen Ridgebacks to mimic and tried to borrow the money as they would.
The Wildclaws conferred with the wise Imperials before tossing the money back at the Ridgeback. They told her to keep the money - in exchange, they would take the misguided Nocturne in and give her less thrifty elders to mimic. Maiden entered the clan and immediately took to following around the trio of Crystal Ridgebacks males. The Wildclaws shook their heads and entrusted the spined dragons to set as good of an example as a Ridgeback could for the hatchling.
Fortunately, upon the entry of Iron to the clan, Maiden became significantly less interested in mimicking the Ridgebacks and instead took up following the other double-Circuit pairs around. To the minor annoyance of the eyeburning Wildclaws and Coatl, but delight of Tiffany, Maiden's bad habit of borrowing without asking began to slip away as she emulated her new fixations instead.
And that is the story of how Maiden tricked her way into the clan.
