Yearning for what they yet fear.



🎕 Biography 🎕
Devout follower of the Five-Faces throughout their life, Reverent chased the tails of their betters, and picked up the leftovers of their lessers. Diligently teaching and learning the ways of their faith. Pages of doctrine trailing after them. As they aged through the years, the ventured out of their close community to the outside world, wishing to spread word. However, as they stumble across desolate ruin after ruin, it seems little of what they sought for lay outside the walls they so desperately tried to scale.

He tred through swaying sweetgrass, yellowing in the harsh sun, wind stroking the sky above. Mellow clouds drifted lethargically on the horizon as long since stale scents drifted through the dry air. Tailbags on his rear, so weightless before, cut miserable lines into his skin as they shifted uncomfortably. No one was in sight, Reverent was alone.

The wildclaw hissed, slumping against a set of pale, dust encrusted stones peaking out of the sandy dirt below their feet. He closed his eyes, what did they come out here for again?

Faint memories of distant farewells cut through their ears, it felt so long ago. Had it really only been a few weeks? Their hindleg twitched as a breeze picked up into a wind, blowing debris into the wound long since gone blackened with rot. It smelled so sickly. The radiant sun escaped through the cloudcover, glaring into his eyes. It wasn't fair. Promises and vows- it all felt so far away.

"Well, look what the manticore dragged in?"
