Biography
The Oracle Ashei had foretold his coming for many moons before his arrival. She had scratched hurriedly on rocks as a hatchling, drawn elaborate murals of great wings and shining metal in charcoal and blood when she became a fledgeling.
Hongwang had lived in the Windlands for many years. His clan had been a Wind clan; and he had felt the beckoning in the breeze of his adopted flight.
Yet in his eyes and his veins, and in the very magic of his bones was Light, and it was knowing that his path would lead him home that he began to travel down the road of the warrior.
A life of relative solitude had awaited him on that road. He sired few clutches in his time, instead working hard to become the protector that would one day be needed. Somehow he knew his purpose, and across the lands, so did Young Ashei. So when the time came for him to journey, he accepted it gladly.
Aeqius' clan was soon to be under siege when he arrived. The Beastclans were encroaching, and despite a team of mages and warriors, there was fear among the young ones and the older residents of the lair.
Until, in the pale blue of early dawn, Ashei had climbed out of the carved tunnels and onto the cool rocks. Without armour and without fear, she sat to greet the morning sun, and the crimson knight that came with it.
By the claws and horns of both Mono and their new warrior, Hongwang, the Beastclans were defeated, and the Lair defended.
His arrival had happened with perfect timing. A room in the lair was carved out for him, and the possibility of a mate allowed for, encouraged. Perhaps he would not live in solitude any longer. And true enough, the Lightweaver gifted him the love of a beautiful mate; rare and sublime, decorated, and sparkling with hide and wings like jewels. Yes, here he would rest, here with her, to grow wise and old and content. To protect the clan, and one day, when the time came, pass his armour on to a worthy son or daughter.
And it is with great amusement and pride he listens as the Oracle who waited for him like the dawn itself tells hatchlings of him; of a strong, fierce warrior, who's love and protection spanned not only between clans, but between the very Flights themselves.
