Biography
There is only one thing that Lemniscate holds any passion for, and that is knowledge. His interests are broad and far-reaching, and he is always open to new avenues of study. Born in the Starfall Isles, he spent much of his youth looking to the Arcanist's observatory and fervently hoping to join the great dragon there someday. As he grew older, however, he began to turn his gaze to the rest of the world, believing that a change of scenery might do more for his understanding of the universe than staring through the lenses of the observatory all day. He wandered southwards, thinking that the eternal cold and bracing climate may have preserved clues to the most well-guarded secrets of Sornieth's ancient history. Rakuna's clan just happened to have established their lair in one of the most promising areas of the Icefield; they welcomed him without question, and he has been hard at work ever since.
He is of a solitary disposition, choosing to isolate himself when working so as to maximize his concentration. Most dragons respect his privacy; Analemma does not. Ishmael occasionally works alongside him, uninvited but not entirely unwelcome, always willing to offer his own insights into the workings of the universe. Generally Lemniscate will be in the company of one or the other, or none at all, but never both—the two do not get along well, and he has neither the time or nor the patience to play peacekeeper. He is not a fighter in any way, shape, or form, being rather frail and a self-professed pacifist. He avoids conflict and relies on the clan to provide protection from the increasingly hostile advances of the Beastclans.
Theros has also enlisted his assistance in searching for a cure for his ailment and the two can be frequently found together in conference over the matter. Lemniscate's experiments thus far suggest that the disease is genetic in nature, however, leading the Spiral scholar to suspect that little beyond divine intervention can save the Ridgeback from an unpleasant fate.
