Thorough

Founder. Leader. All defer to Thorough, their ruthless master.

Originally a Mirror dragon, Thorough was transformed into an Aberration in a freak accident while foraging. A younger, reckless Thorough presumed himself invincible, and took it upon himself to make ncursions into the Scarred Wastelands in the name of his verdant goddess. Though he was cautious, he was not cautious enough. A passing patrol of Plague dragons caught his scent and chased him into Wyrmwound. In the agonized throes of near-death, he prayed desperately to be spared — not only to the Gladekeeper, but to the Plaguebringer, to any who would listen.

What answered was no God of Dragonkind.

The Shade touched him. Some remnant of it. It showed him visions of ages past: mass destruction wrought by the Eleven — and by the peoples of the Second Age, who doomed themselves with the worship of their elements. It showed him the lie that was the Pillar, the lie that was the Eleven's omnipotence It showed him all their failures — past, present, and future. Sorneith, the Shade whispered, oh-so seductive, has no future under their reign. The only way forward lies in my embrace.

His mind and body shattered even as they were reformed into something that could survive the Wyrmwound. Thorough emerged a changed dragon. And when he returned to his burgeoning clan, he was not the only thing to change.
