FUGARÉ / HE • SHE • ANY / CONTESTANT
━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━
The young combatant caught wind of a deadly competition from which only the strongest could be victorious. Intrigued, he looked further into it, a wide grin on his face as he digested the information. Seeking glory ever since he was a young dragonet, Fuge entered himself into a round of the mysterious Hunger Games to test his skill, much to Malachite’s horror. He knows the risks and has put any fear aside, facing the competition with courage and determination. Although he only wishes to win for the experience and for the satisfying feelings of victory, he also wishes to bring honor to his lair as a sort of thanks for putting up with him. And so away he vanished to prove his strength and worth, with only Malachite with a clue as to where he might have gone.

xxxThis peculiar dragon initially entered Tremolite’s clan by stalking Eita home on one of her scouting trips as a young dragonet with no home. He was not turned away after he was discovered and continued following the massive Aberration around, seemingly awestruck by her prowess. He soon proved to be a rambunctious little troublemaker who tussled frequently with any other dragonets he could get his claws on. He acted a lot like an Aberration himself, seemingly encapsulated by the ideas of changing, fighting, improving, and growing as strong as possible. He seemed to idolize soldiers and mighty figures, and there was some obvious fighting potential in the little warrior. Finally, Eita took it upon herself to train him, building him into a rather mighty adolescent. However, he had a bad appetite and often refused to flat out eat certain foods, often throwing fits over how his throat burned and his heart stung and his stomach hurt. It was eventually discovered that he had acid reflux, which started to quickly interfere with his ability to learn. Despite this Eita was patient and didn’t seem to mind, doting kindly over the dragonet whenever he complained until he felt better.
xxxWanting more, Fuge somehow convinced just about anyone who knew even a thing about combat— be it physical, mental, or magical— to teach him what they knew. He was surprisingly charming and persuasive, garnering the personal training of not just the aforementioned Eita but also fighters like Jade, Ares, and old Malachite; gaolers Blade the Keeper, Kirin the Sentry, and Rustic the Seeker; and even survivors or hunters who don't even fight but simply lived under harsh circumstances such as Ceirios and Verhängnis.
xxxMalachite perhaps taught him the most important lesson: he taught him not to underestimate or overestimate an opponent, and to know when to go for it versus when to back down. Seeing a young dragon who acted much like he used to before his shattered femur put an end to his fighting days, Malachite urged him not to push himself too hard or break himself beyond repair, stressing the importance of resting and healing and knowing when to back down. Not to mention, Malachite taught Fuge to work in unison with his acid reflux instead of loathing how his hidden disadvantage could sometimes hold him back. Fuge started to gain back his appetite, which in turn fueled his often exhausted body annd gave him the boost he finally needed. Eventually, Fugaré started going to Malachite for lessons instead of Eita; although he was thankful to her, she had taught him all she could.
xxxFugaré continued playfighting with other clanmates as he grew, even venturing out of the lair to fight in clubs and taverns and other lairs for money and fame— although for her the most important thing was entertainment. Something about the adrenaline rush and the sharp pain of injury and the invigorating anticipation of her opponent’s next move was like magic to her. With each fight, she took the opportunity to further her knowledge, strength, and skills of all sorts by learning from her opponents. Over time, Fuge gained the notorious nickname “Solar Flare” for his flamelike scales and love for combat, despite his affinity for Ice magic. In fact, it comes almost like a shock to many when he does release magical attacks and snow flurries from his jaws instead of flames or ice shards spike up from the ground instead of boiling magma.
