[This whole thing is still under construction. If the story cuts off suddenly, it's because I'm still writing it. I'm just super slow. xD]

Born over 400 years ago, Winifred dabbled in simple magic until hearing a call from the Shade. In exchange for helpless souls, the Shade granted Winifred knowledge and power to capture immortality and youthful beauty. Every night on the full moon Winifred creates a potion which transfers souls to her precious pearl. The Shade absorbs the offered souls in sacrifice while Winifred is granted the remaining life essence, reversing the effects of time.

As her power grew, Winifred needed more souls to sustain her appearance. With her crafty and egotistically mind, she captured a young imperial, ensnaring him into servitude for 500 years. The shackles on his limbs bind Anubis to Winifred. Around his neck, a powerful crystal sits faceted between an iron necklace. As he flies through the realms, the crystal traps souls of the fallen before they are able to ascend to their respective deities.

Deep in the woods, sits a decrepit house made of rotting wood held together by black sludge. Grime and filth cover the windows as flashes of bright colors blind anybody or anything trying to look in. A shadow filters past the window followed closely by cackling. "Hahaha! It's almost done!"

A female dragon circles her cauldron and drops questionable ingredients into the bubbling goo. Bright flashes of color bursts forth as each item plunges into the concoction. Smoke plums up and over the lip of the cauldron, blanketing the ground and engulfing objects littering the house.

The dragon hums to herself while uncorking a vile of fish eyes, carefully pouring a pinch into the brew. She inhales the fumes, "Ah, yes! It's ready." Her eyes light up with glee as she taps her claws on the cauldron's edge. "Perfect, as always. Now for the souls. The beautiful, beautiful souls." She rears her head back and bellows, "Anubis! Get your pathetic excuse of a hide in here!" The front door shoots open, blasting cold air through the house. Ingredients fling everywhere while glass jars clank off of their neighbors, threatening to shatter. A foreboding figure looms in the frame. "Winifred," rumbles Anubis. He glances at the cauldron and scowls.

Winifred clicks her tongue and sings, "Anuu~bis, daring, I do not like to be kept waiting." Anubis flattens his ears to protect them from Winifred's shrill voice, however, he makes no attempt to step forward. Annoyed, Winifred raises her hand, fingers stretched out. Slowly, she begins to curl her hand into a fist while a grin spreads across her face. Immediately Anbuis begins to gag and claw at the intricate necklace now constricting his throat at an alarming rate.

Winifred sighs dramatically, "Why must you make me do this? The potion is ready and yet you insist on impeding my efforts." She flexes her fist. Anubis chokes. "Honestly, we've been together for two hundred years and you know how fragile I can be." Winifred ceases the strangulation and instead, swoons against the cauldron, placing the back of her hand against her forehead. "I feel it! Youth is seeping from me and the wrinkles are creeping in!" Her voice begins to screech. "Old, Anubis! I'm getting old!" She glances at Anubis from under her hand. "But you, darling, you'll make things better." Winifred stalks forward babbling. "Oh, yes. Quite nice. Very good, dear." Her eyes transfix on the crystal fitted in the necklace around Anubis' neck. It pulsates, responding to her presence the closer she gets.

A twitch of dread and guilt ripples though Anubis and he steps back. Winifred snaps her eyes to Anubis and cackles, "Oh no, this won't do!" She lifts her hand again and snaps it towards her. Without warning, the necklace wrenches forward, dragging an unwilling Anbuis with it. Winifred dances back to the cauldron and positions herself behind it. Anubis is ungracefully tossed forward on the opposite side of her. The potion bubbles in between them. Closing her eyes, Winifred begins to chant. The crystal starts to glow as the air stirs. Objects begin to float off the table and the potion ripples.

Winifred thrusts her hands into the air above the smoke raising from the cauldron. Anbuis squirms in an attempt to retreat, but the necklace keeps him ensnared. A low scream, mixed with whispers, radiates from the crystal. In a manic fit, Winifred shouts between incantations, "Come to me! Release your hold and give me your youth!" The crystal responds, spiting out floating souls. At least a dozen twist and congeal together. Echos of screams and terror fade in and out as each soul tries to escape the crystal's hold. With a wicked grin, Winifred slashes her hand forward, sending the souls plummeting down into the cauldron.

The souls absorb into the mixture, exploding the house with blinding light and haze. Winifred turns away from the cauldron and removes a pearl sphere from an intricate wire display. She coons to the pearl, holding it close to her chest as she carefully makes her way back to the cauldron. Delicately, she slowly places the peal into the potion which eagerly consumes the offered gift. One last flash blasts out of the cauldron before a golden mist drifts above the surface. Winifred leans over and deeply inhales the mist. She glows as the magic enters her body. In seconds her age reverses. No more wrinkles or chipped nails. Her complection is softer, but when her eye lids flutter open, evil flickers across her face.

She reaches down into cauldron collecting her pearl sphere. All traces of the potion gone, but three smaller pearls roll at the base. Winifred clicks her tongue in surprise. "Oh, Anubis, look! Eggs! What good souls you collected. They've gone and made me nice eggs to offer our master." Finally released from the necklace's hold, Anubis jerks back and mutters under his breath, "He is no master of mine." Winifred ignores the retort and congers wire displays for the new eggs.
