An eccentric, lost-in-his-own-world but ultimately kind young artist. Yusuke Kitagawa is a levelheaded, intelligent, if strange individual, whose mind works in ways that others often can't understand. He is a honest and direct individual, unafraid to declare his intent, or to let others know when they are behaving unsightly in his opinion. He's also quite direct, and can come off as pushy, even if he doesn't mean for it to, especially when it comes to subjects for his art. His whole world revolves around his art, really, and he sees any situation as a potential way to improve, and gain new perspectives. That being said, his dignity is fragile when it comes to his art, and doesn't take well to his status as an artist being questioned or threatened. He often worries that he'll end up going down the same path of corruption as his former mentor, Madarame, who was the reason that he joined the Phantom Thieves. Nevertheless, he rests assured that he has the support of his friends, who keep him secure in his pride as an artist, not to mention Gorokichi, the demon with whom he entered a contract upon his first entry into the metaverse. The demon is the source of his ice powers.

While he still occasionally worries that if he paints for monetary gain, he will lose himself to corruption, he has his heart set on becoming a true artist, and continues to strive to pour his heart into his paintings, displaying both the beauty and ugliness of reality, humanity, and the world. Since the Phantom Thieves split up, he has doubled down on this, and travels around in an attempt to capture as many experiences as possible. His time changing hearts with the Phantom Thieves has given him much inspiration, but there is still so much to see in reality that he wishes to capture in his paintings.

He does miss having them around... nobody understands him quite like the Phantom Thieves, and while he tries his best to connect with his peers, and with strangers he meets, he finds himself... lacking, in social aspects. Part of this is due the treatment he received at Madarame's hand, he's sure, but he's also sure that his way of thinking would've always been different from most. He doesn't mind it, really, it is just... unfortunate, when it causes issues.

That all said, he's content with the path he has chosen. It has its ups and downs, but it is what he chose. He will continue living his passion with art, and continue to cherish the friends he has, even if they are far away fro now. They'll meet again, and he looks forwards to that day.
