Shaan

Shaan is a permanent resident of the hostel's ICU because he is that delicate: some combination of residual ice magic, genetic tendency towards fragility or plain old bad luck has left him as fragile as bone china. Despite this, he is bright and cheerful and guaranteed to put a smile on his fellow patients faces - when they wake up, of course.

Despite telling him that she cannot trace the cause of his malady, Cath knows the real cause - a unique concoction of the Plaguebringer, one that could bring her foes to their knees and then shatter them. Caught between her god, her devotion to her patients, and her long-dormant fondness both for the little Imperial and the delicate but interesting state of the world, is it Shaan or Cath who will crack first?
