ArcidGale's original mate, Bloodfire, turned to Snapper the Plague Mirror after a while, leaving ArcidGale a little heartbroken. One day, during a vicious attack on the clan, Snapper and Bloodfire went missing. They have yet to be heard from since. Grieving for his two friends, ArcidGale went on a journey on his own to the far distant reaches of the region, trekking through other territories with no fear of being injured. He stumbled across the clan that Snapper had come from.
A pearlcatcher, far younger than him, saw him and fell in love. She begged to return with him, yearning to explore the regions with him. The clan allowed her to leave with him, and so they turned back towards the Tangled Wood. Over time, while traveling, ArcidGale warmed up to the pearlcatcher, whos name was Hrist. Shadowblood was displeased when ArcidGale showed up after a long absence, but sighed and welcomed the newcomer to the clan.
ArcidGale and Hrist had their first clutch of babies, and themirror's spiral's grief dwindled away. He still thinks of his two friends, and earlier mate, but the pain was no longer consuming him.
Not even a year after settling down with the pearlcatcher, a vicious attack on one of their hunting parties by a band of Steelhounds resulted in casualties, his mate being one of them. He still carries her pearl with him, always tucked close by.
