Biography
Quote:
His legend began in a time when Gods still walked upon Avaris and called these lands home.
In a time when dragonkind was still young, they lived under constant threat of the Traitor Gods—those twisted, corrupted Gods who had fallen from glory, creating the first demons and inciting the Divine War.
A conscript of the war, Marchen rose from unknown origin to become a warrior of folktale, unmatched. A Champion of the Everlight, he faced the Sunswallower in combat. With a sword of blazing light, he alone brought the Traitor God low, forcing him to bow before him.
Tales say that Marchen killed him there, on a ruined, craggy battlefield beyond the reach of the Capital.
But one does not slay such a creature. One merely hopes to contain them.
Using all the power of the half-divinity the Everlight had given him as Her Champion, he entrapped the fallen God in divine chains. Powered by Marchen’s very being, he trapped both himself and the Sunswallower there, tying their very existences together.
Now, centuries later, he still guards the fallen God, his life tied to its own, unending. But with the Gods’ departure from the world, his power has begun to wane, and he fears the awakening of the the Sunswallower once more, unable to be repelled by his divine siblings.
So, Marchen seeks to raise an army of his own, of his children, imbued with his fleeting divine legacy—guardians to take his place if he falls and ensure the Sunswallower remains caged and the realm safe.

Like all Guardians, Vitali left home soon after she came into adulthood, called by the Search. But what was supposed to bring her purpose only ended in distress. She met numerous dragons along her journey, many the Search wanted to bind her to. But, if she were to chose this dragon, what about the one she left behind? What about those she had yet to meet? Vitali had a strong desire to protect others, but she couldn't just pick one. The thought of leaving others helpless caused her to spiral into a depression, cursing the Search and trying to find some way to gain peace of mind.
One day, the Guardian had an epiphany while watching some hatchlings. What was stopping her from having her own? She could have as many hatchlings as she wanted, and she could personally train them up herself. And all those dragons she passed over in her indecision, she could send them in behalf of her. Strong children who would grow up to be clan guardians, protectors, and leaders. She could only protect one dragon, but having hatchlings, she could protect many, even a hundred! And so she set about her mission, to bring forth and train one hundred of her own children, starting a lineage of warriors to travel across Sornieth to help those in need.
