Biography
OWL
Clan Leader | Trainer { "Nothing helps a bad mood like spreading it around." } Owl trains the young dragons the Gladekeeper's recruiters send her way. It is a necessary job - without her work, things would fall apart; in her clan and elsewhere. She doesn't love her work but neither does she hate it. To her, it is just a job she must do. And she does it well, training the young ones with efficiency and skill. She never wastes time and is mostly silent. When she does talk, she's often blunt. She can come across as unfriendly, but there exists no better trainer than she. Owl started the clan by accident. She was living alone and something about her, probably her superior survival skills, drew other dragons in. As unhappy about that as she was, she felt responsibility for them and accepted a role as leader. It was a unanimous decision for her to lead; she had displayed the qualities needed right from the start, and though she was (and still is), grumpy, her clanmates knew she'd keep them safe. She is a sharp, suspicious dragon, and her clan is all the safer for it. Owl is... less than friendly. Funny that she'd lead a whole clan, right? Her clan puts up with her, and some even admire her. She is a fierce warrior and leads the young ones well, albeit grumpily. She has a sharp mind and when she does joke, her sense of humor is drier than the Sandswept Delta. Surprising. However, none of the dragons expect anything like humor from her most of the time. They count themselves lucky if she doesn't scowl at them. On the days she isn't training or helping her clan, Owl can almost always be seen reading in her hollow and glaring at those who are too loud for her liking. Her general aura of unfriendliness doesn't change much when she's off duty, but nobody in the clan dares to confront her. This is due to both Owl's ancientness and the strange magics of unknown origin that seem to be with her everywhere she goes. Nobody knows how old she is, except her, and Owl likes to keep it that way. A dragon has to keep some secrets, doesn't she? Sidenote: Don't ask Owl who her friends in the clan are. She will scowl and say she doesn't have any, or worse, snarl at the unfortunate questioner and send them scurrying back across the clan grounds. If in a rare good mood, she will simply say she tolerates some dragons better than others and that who they are is above your level of knowledge. She will never admit to having friends. Ever. |
