Paper wings and a painted body. He folded in on himself and fell into a sleep. When he awoke, he was something new, something beautiful, something undeniably alive!

His mother was a talented artificer, skilled in her craft. Her muse was a beautiful serpent with a crystalline body and cellophane wings. Together they wrought many beautiful children, creations that were not quite dragons but not quite machine.

He had his fathers wings. His design was like his mother's misty form. Carrying parts of them, he was not his own creature. He bore their traits. They built him with a mind of his own, they shaped him, but only just. For the most part he was free to choose his own path. They did not make servants but skilled progeny.
His choice was to walk away. He sought to be more than what they made. He sought transformation.
