Biography

Will sell at a discount if bought with Narcisse!

Sorry that the lore isn't very well-written; I wrote it ages ago, at 3 AM, so it's super sloppy. Feel free to rewrite it to your liking. -Darkfall

"Greetings from the Darkfallen!" A nervous voice woke Pulsar from his afternoon rest. The nocturne groaned softly. Exhaustion combated against his eyelids, the inability to open them keeping him from seeing who just roused him from his nap.

"We come offering a trade; gems for your service as an ambassador of Light!" The voice was young, peppy despite the obvious anxiousness grabbing at their words. Pulsar struggled to lift his head from its resting spot, but managed to do so after a moment or two. After rubbing them free of sleep, Pulsar managed to pry his eyes open to take a gander at the newcomer.

Before him stood a pearlcatcher. Their widened, bright green eyes gave away their elemental alignment. A wind dragon; most likely this so-called "Darkfallen's" messenger. Their blue, overly frizzed hair is likely from a rough flight over to the plague domain.

Pulsar squinted for a moment. He was barely awake enough to think. What on Sornieth was this delivery-boy talking about? How did this pearlcatcher even know about him?

The pearlcatcher obviously noticed Pulsar's confusion. "There was a flyer at the trading post advertising your services. We're in need of someone willing to represent the Light flight, so we decided to seek you out to see if you'd accept out offer." The messenger paused. "You ARE mister-- er..." They scrambled to look at the flyer in their hands. "Mister Plusar, right?"

Ah, right, the flyer. Pulsar was still so half-asleep that he had hardly remembered about placing an advertisement out the day before. He raised a brow. "Pulsar," The nocturne groggily corrected the boy. "And who did you say you spoke for again?"

"Ah! I speak for the lair of the Darkfallen! We're a bit of a small clan at the moment, but we're growing." The blue-haired youngster beamed with pride. "I'm Chip, by the way."

"Darkfallen." Pulsar tested the word on his tongue. He thought for a moment, then furrowed his brows. "Where is your clan situated?"

"We're currently residing in the Foxfire Bramble! It's quite a well-hidden den. Very protected, too!"

The Foxfire Bramble. Of course. It just HAD to be a Shadow lair asking for a Light dragon. Pulsar let out a not-so-internal grumble as he pressed against his temple.

"How much are you offering?"

Chip rummaged through their clearly disorganized pack for what seemed like ages until they finally pulled out a slightly smaller bag. They gently placed it in front of Pulsar, who gazed down at in with widened eyes. It was a coin purse -- or a gem purse, in this case, as this pouch had shining blue jewels within it. It was fairly hefty, there were a couple hundred in there, he guessed.

The nocturne sat in silent thought for a few moments, his chin resting in his talons. His other hand laid upon the pouch, the tapping of a digit making the gemstones inside gently clink against eachother.

"Well?" Chip piped up after a while, head slightly tilted.

"Very well. I accept your offer."

"Oh, wonderful! I'll send word to our leader straight away! Here's your map," They handed him a rolled-up piece of paper. "You'll need it to navigate. Do you have anything you'd like me to fly over there for you? I'd be more than happy to-"

"No, that's fine." Pulsar interrupted. "Is there not someone to guide me to the den? The Bramble is hard enough to navigate as is, let alone while trying to find a den opening."

"Unfortunately, no. I need to get back as soon as I can so we can prepare for your arrival, and our guards are currently too preoccupied to meet you at the border. Do you think you can make it on your own?" The pearlcatcher's ears drooped, seeming rather worried. Perhaps even disappointed?

Pulsar sighed. "I'll be fine. I'm a Light dragon, after all. I should be able to light the way to find you."

"Oh, good! I'll be on my way then. I'll see you back at the den then, new clan-mate!" Chip was clearly very pleased that they would be having a new friend.

As the delivery-dragon flew off, Pulsar couldn't help but feel a sense of dread wash over him. He had heard rumors of how difficult it was to travel within the Tangled Wood, even more so once you reach the Bramble. The thorns grew so thickly there that it's likely to be one of the darkest places known to dragonkind. Things get even harder when the sun sets.

Pulsar gulped. Oh dear.

He looked at the sky. The sun had just begun to touch the horizon, and it was only getting darker and darker by the minute.

He was going to have to traverse the shadowy woods, on his own, with nothing at all to guide him.

Great.

Lore notes for when I feel like writing later:

• Originally came from a Plague clan.
• Was offered payment to join the clan to serve as a Light ambassador.
• During his travel in the Tangled Wood on the way to his new lair, he stepped in a puddle of shadowy goop. It crawled up his limbs and stuck to him no matter how hard he tried to wash it off. (Mark of the Binder accent)
• The strange "shadow disease" slowly kept growing until it reached his eye, then suddenly stopped. *Due to the curious magical strength of the goo, his right eye now shows up as if it were a shadow-dragon's eye.
• Pulsar is still a Light dragon by all means, and cannot cast shadow magic, but he's able to see much better in the dark out of his infected eye.
• Pulsar gets flare-ups of sorts, where his shadow-touched limbs will begin to feel like they're burning or itching.
• Since his limbs are covered in this goo, if he were to touch another dragon they would feel strangely warm, and may even begin to itch. The shadow-touched limbs seem to have no effect on Shadow dragons, though.

*May scrap this idea and keep both of his eyes yellow, but just have him able to see better in the dark out of the goop-covered eye.
