Biography
LAVEROC
TRACKER || SCOUT || CURMUDGEON
TRACKER || SCOUT || CURMUDGEON
Age: Adult | Pronouns: He/Him
Laveroc’s opinion of these interlopers is low, considering many of them to be fools or idiots. Any respect he has for someone is begrudging at best, and he’s not afraid to make his opinion known. However, he’s well aware that he’s merely just tolerated by most of the clan members, and tries to gauge the clan’s dislike of him, tempering his behavior accordingly. He has countless backup plans if his stint as head scout goes awry, but naturally, refuses to tell anyone what these plans might be.
However, a few ways exist to get on Laveroc’s good side. Feeding his ego is an easy way to stay in his good graces, and respecting his role as a valuable member of the clan at least stops him from glaring. Finally, gifts of valuable plant life can smooth over any insult. He happily tends to his own private, swampy garden to honor the Gladekeeper, so any new tribute to her and his garden is welcomed. Younger members of the clan often present plants to Laveroc in advance when they’re going to do something that may upset him.
CORE RELATIONSHIPS
By all accounts, Laveroc should detest Nectar. She’s yet another interloper who has joined the clan and a plague dragon to boot, but Laveroc can’t help but find her overwhelming bravado and confidence…charming. He makes an effort to keep tabs on her and any missives she sends home for the protection of the clan, and convinces himself that his need to spend time with her is merely for his and the rest of the clan’s safety. But while that time originally started as patrolling, it’s developed to him showing her different plants or spending time sharing stories in the safety of the swamp. The only thing stopping Laveroc from confessing his love is the stubbornness that she should confess first. |
AESOP
Confidant | One of the few dragons Laveroc openly respects, no one is certain how Aesop and Laveroc came to an alliance. Only the two know the truth; Aesop won Laveroc over with his dedication to the Gladekeeper and desire for Laveroc to obtain autonomy, while Laveroc’s knowledge and commitment to his swamp inspired Aesop to strive for that same level of diligence. Most of Laveroc’s complaints against Aesop are grandstanding (after all, he has a reputation to uphold), but when Laveroc is truly troubled, he has no trouble seeking Aesop’s guidance. |
HYLPOA
Familiar |
When Laveroc settled in the Autumna Swamp, a large herd of kelpie lived there. His attitude and desire for solitude drove many of them away, but not Hylpoa. Instead, she found a way to live with Laveroc, making herself useful by bringing him prey and offerings. Laveroc's affection was made apparent when Hylpoa fell injured after a particularly nasty hunt, and he took care to nurse her back to health himself. Now, the pair bicker endlessly, but continue to work together and share the swamp. Hylpoa is the only creature known to be able to sass Laveroc with no consequences--though she does this very, very infrequently. |
