Biography
Alll right...
I'm not sure if we're in for the long haul on this one, but waitin' out on Auraboa lore might be a while.
And as someone who bases clan lore off of concepts from canon lore, I'm making my own solution to this.
You're welcome to use this as a temporary or permanent lore solution for your Auraboas.
Note: Most of this stuff is based off of stuff I already know (other First Nations who observe nonlinear time, Nolan movies, other canon lore). One of these days, I'll get around to watching Deep Space Nine, I swear.
1. Auraboas can speak Draconic normally, despite being used to telepathic communication. Tbh the telepathic Martians in The Martian Chronicles could speak normally, even though telepathy was normally used. Same goes here, although I'd factor in a small adjustment period. They can speak full sentences.
2. Auraboas in the Loop and born before BOTE don't need sleep, period. Even outside the Behemoth, they are still connected to the life force of the Loop. If an Auraboa is born after BOTE, they adjust to a circadian sleep cycle. However, the newer hatchlings aren't cut off from the Loop. They have their connection, while also gaining the ability to comprehend what linear time means. They are cut off from both the Loop and the linear time perspective while they sleep through. Their speech is probably similar to a Nolan movie, bringing up events from the past and present and combining the influence from both.
3. How circular, nonlinear time works in the lore: There are certain patterns that occur in nature. Sunrise / sunset, 4 seasons, growth and decay of flora and fauna. Auraboa keep track of time based on these patterns alone, there's no difference between this year's and last year's summer. Therefore, an enclosed, circular mindset.
* The new Auraboa hatchlings have an understanding on how all those summers are connected (linear time) while still holding a connection to their ancestors in the Loop.
* As a result of this circular thinking, Auraboas don't differentiate between the past and present. In this lore, their minds always think in a present / future tense, write their POV from a first person view.
4. If an Auraboa grows older and decides to leave the Loop, by their choice, they can. Shamans or priestesses such as Insomnia, can change and redirect the magical energies in an Auraboa to block off the Loop's connection. Usually this is activated by wearing an enchanted piece of clothing (hence Gale and Hail's terracotta armor). Because they are cut off from the power of the Behemoth, Auraboas who are cut off, take in energy from the surrounding magic around them. Places that are fertile or teeming with life, can act as suitable replacements, and the Auraboa in these areas take short 10-30 minute naps to regain extra energy. Auraboas in more barren areas (Earth, Ice, Lightning) will need to take longer, hour-long naps to stay awake-ish.
