Biography
= Centigrade =
Auraboas in Kaiator can't access the Loop. The dimensional divide is too vast. As a result, auraboas have traditionally avoided our realm.
That has changed in recent years, with a few members of the younger generation making the journey. Some are malcontents who wish to be free of the consciousness of their elders. Others are adventure-seekers excited to experience a new frontier. (Imagine a place you can only experience by physically traveling there yourself! What a wild concept!)
Even more recently, the auraboa population in Kaiator has reached critical mass, giving rise to a nascent local Loop. It's separate from the Sornieth Loop (if you trip and spill your chili in front of an aura here, the Kaiator auras will all know about it, but the Sornieth auras will not). It can only be accessed while asleep, regardless of one's generation, and the signal strength gets dramatically weaker the farther you are from the city.
There's a heated debate among Kaiator auras as to whether it's best to raise hatchlings in the city (giving them access to the Kaiator Loop from birth) or in the outlying lands (to allow them to develop a greater sense of personal identity before they link up).
Cent is one of the first wave of auras to emigrate from Sornieth. She stowed away on a shipping vessel bound for Kaiator, and, when she was discovered, she convinced them to let her stay as a deckhand.
