Taki lives together with her parents and her older sister Maki, who is 4 years older than her. When Maki was in high school, she was the president of Haneoka Girls' High School's brass band and at the same time, one of the trumpet players of the local orchestra which frequently participates and wins in competitions. She currently attends university and is still part of said orchestra.

Taki used to attend Haneoka's middle school branch. It is implied that due to him not being able to live up to the expectations and pressures of his peers, who assumed Taki would be as talented and reliable as his sister was, he decided to switch to Hanasakigawa in high school.

Taki was also the drummer of CRYCHIC and was invited to join the band by Sakiko. After the band's disbandment, she started studying how to compose DTM (Desktop music).

Taki is a loner who enjoys being all alone. He works part-time at RiNG, but due to his blunt personality, short temper and the fact he has a tendency to glare at people, he isn't good at customer service. He is a bit of a perfectionist, but at the same time has an inferiority complex towards his older sister.

Taki considers Tomori and her music very important to her, and says that her songs resonated with her and gave Taki hope that "it's alright for someone like me to be alive." As a result he is very protective of her and even insulted Anon when he saw her running after a crying Tomori and mention that it asked Tomori to join its band.
In the flightrising universe, Taki is a mysterious and slightly grumpy obelisk dragon. Routinely teased by fellow obelisk Umiri, the two share a special bond with one another unmatched by any other. Taki tends to hoard mechanical things he finds, he piles things up in the very back of his sector of his lair, deep in a bat's cave. Deep down, he's a dragon taken to by the strange and unusual. Despite growing up within a lair that belongs right in the tangled wood, she's in a family of arcane dragons and her older sister is the best arcane magician in the family. Taki feels inferior to her, being how Taki has a sizeable amount of arcanist's knowledge, having been a close scholar as a dragonet, but feeling so defeated and feeling like she'll never reach the level of her sister, she gave it up as a career path and went on her own in secret. A shadow dragon on the outside, but an arcanist's gemstone at heart.
