Amelienne formally broke affiliation with the Nocturne clade and became a practicioner of the Yul rituals a little before Jul became a member of the clan. Though most people now tend to forget this, and simply assume that he brainwashed her. The fact of the matter was that Amelienne had been deeply unhappy with the way the Nocturnes behaved (particularly Stoneswept) for months before, and also felt lost amongst the greater clan itself.

In fact, she had considered exalting herself to the Arcanist.

It wasn't until she started doing research into different spiritualities that she realised she might be able to find some kind of succour on the Sornieth plane, and once she discovered the sweetness of the Yul-practices, she became a whole-hearted convert.

Despite some thinking that Jul and Amelienne only have their spirituality in common, this is not true at all. Like him, she is prone towards overly serious thoughts, being quite a sombre individual. They spend quiet, comfortable time together. Two introverts side by side, she often resting in the cradle of his wings while lazily stroking his neck as she falls asleep.

She enjoys the decorative aspects of ritual. Working on glorious shrines that foster community. In fact, she'll even fly deep into forests and make random shrines in neutral territory for lost souls to visit. In the spirit of giving, she regularly makes pilgrimages to the Beastclans with Verity to offer them food and the Yul stories, in exchange for hearing their own. Like Jul, she isn't interested in proselytising, and prefers the open sharing of different ways of life, to learn more about the vast world around her.
