Biography
Tahlun
Composer, singer, prefers being alone (odd for a mirror), often found by rivers or deep in the woods, can speak with birds specifically (she sings with them) |
Background
She immediately made a beeline towards the Starfall Isles which would take her significantly longer since she was flying against the wind. As dusk fell she alighted in the midst of the abiding boneyard. Looking around she found a place to make camp quite quickly and soon had a fire lit to stave off the creatures lurking in the dark. Humming softly to herself she picked up her lyre and began to strum the strings. The tattered lands of the Scarred Wasteland bringing to mind a dirge, lamenting the state of decay. Soon after a hopeful ballad mingled with it, telling the tale of new life after death, of the rains washing away the decay to nurture the new growth. As she lost herself in her songs she didn’t hear the footsteps approaching.
The crackling fire and sounds of singing had drawn the attention of several less than savory individuals, a pack of mirrors who were not affiliated with any particular clan roamed the boneyard, watching and waiting for both prey and travelers who let their guards down. They didn’t kill other dragons, they weren’t complete savages, however they would still attack and rob anyone with anything worth selling. The pack descended upon Tahlun without warning, she barely registered what happened before the world went dark. When she finally awoke the following morning, she stood up with a groan and looked around. Her head hurt and nearly everything had been taken, the only things left were her songbook and lute. She was grateful they had been left but soon wondered if she’d have the supplies to make it out of the Wasteland. As she dusted herself off - opting to stay positive in the wake of recent events - and collected what remained of her belongings she heard voices nearby. Cautiously, she approached and listened in on the conversation of the dragons she found. The other dragons were discussing a recent string of attacks by roaming packs of mirrors. More and more rogue packs, as the dragons called them, were popping up and it was becoming more and more dangerous to pass through the Scarred Wasteland without guards.
Tahlun stayed hidden for a time, listening and watching the other dragons. She was worried that they might think she was a rogue mirror from one of the packs. So when she felt she’d heard enough about what was happening she slunk away and took to the skies once more. Instead of continuing through the Wasteland she headed back towards the Sea of a Thousand Currents. She needed fresh supplies if she was to go anywhere - and Flotsam Town was certainly a good place to gather fresh supplies - plus, maybe if she was lucky this unexpected detour would lend itself to some new songs as well.
