______Charybdis remembers fondly his past adventures of terror and plight upon unsuspecting ships with his brother. Both sea serpents that disguise themselves as normal dragons, their agenda consisted of getting hired as ship hands, then waiting until they were far enough from land before attacking and sinking the ship. The more dragons they consumed, the more powerful they would grow. Once, they came upon a ship captained by a single wildclaw. Elderyth, her name was, and though convincing the lone captain to hire them onto her ship proved to be difficult, eventually their combined charisma won her over. Alas, this trip would turn out to be the last between the two brothers. Icy waters came suddenly, catching all three off guard and ultimately sinking the ship before the serpents could even attack. Although adept at swimming, the shock of the sinking and the freezing waters ended up besting the brothers and temporarily seperating them at sea...

______Charbydis and his brother found themselves washed up upon the frigid shores of the Southern Icefields, the dragon captain they had targeted nowhere to be found. His brother Scylla, hot-headed as he was, snapped at Charybdis. It was only one dragon, how could they have let her get away? Charybdis, always one to hold his ground, snarled right back, which resulted in a fight that ultimately caused the brothers to split paths. Scylla would return to the docks they had started from, while Charybdis would stay here among the ice. There was plenty to eat here, anyway. Any ship crew reckless enough to sail out here would be easy pickings, even without Charybdis disguising himself onboard.

______And so he stays, stalking the icy waters near the pier in search of doomed expeditions, which are surprisingly numerous. When not beneath the waters in his true serpentine form, he continues to disguise himself among dragonkind and has come into contact many times with the residents of the nearby clan the pier itself belongs to. Many times he has been invited inside, only for him to politely turn the invitation down, always with a sort of sly smile added on. He can weather just fine out here in the cold, he says. Don't you worry about him. At times, he thinks about his brother with both love and disdain. No matter. He knows his brother well, and he knows he's doing fine out there by himself. Perhaps one day they'll reunite, but for now they stubbornly keep away from one another, and that may as well be for the best.
