"Where are your ghosts?"

On a moonlit night of black skies, ghostly mist seeped out of the ground, creeping across the darkened landscape and converging within a vast graveyard. Dragons murmured at the ominous sight and quickly retreated to the shelters of their caves. Many of them fell asleep before the clock struck midnight, and so many of them failed to see the sudden condensation of the mist and the silhouette that materialized within it.

The quiet of the graveyard and the grave statues of the fallen disturbed Hekate the moment her consciousness formed. She was not one for statues with eyes, and an uncomfortable sensation made her feel as if they were watching her. And the quiet -- why was it so quiet? The Nocturne lifted her head back and studied the glimmering pearl of the moon. Then her eyes flashed with great power and everything within a thirty-mile radius around her disintegrate with a haunting wail.

And Hekate laughed.

Though Hekate is seen as a considerably more sane than her mate, Tezcatlipoca, she's still deranged enough for mothers to keep their children far, far away from her. Many of her clanmates blame her for sudden appearances of ghouls, to which Hekate would simply laugh in reply. It is said that Hekate can conjure lost souls and create things out of mist, and though the sayings remain rumors, Hekate has never shown up to set them straight.

Incredibly smart and talented, Hekate is a valuable member of the clan. She is not only skillful with magic, but also an expert at potion-making. While Tezcatlipoca prefers to make only chaotic and destructive potions, Hekate makes a variety of different potions, from those that heal to those that kill. It is Hekate who keeps a large book filled with recipes of various potions, and it is Hekate Tezcatlipoca turns to whenever he forgets the ingredients or procedure of a certain potion.

Exceedingly fond of her mate, Hekate would go to extremes to help him, including collecting ingredients from dangerous places. Hekate shows no fear when breaking into temples to collect cursed opal or blowing up entire mountainfuls of Beastclans to retrieve a sprig of enchanted mint. She's one of the most daring risk takers in the clan, and has never failed to tackle a mission completely and successfully. Which, of course, is not hard when you're a goddess with super powerful magic at your command.

Hekate is very happy to be in the room as Tezcatlipoca creates potions because it is never quiet when he creates. She also remakes any potion Tezcatlipoca creates that is helpful to the clan.
