W R I T I N G
All of the colorful and flashy stalls catch Feratula's attention. Known as a calm and patient Guardian, festival games are actually Feratula's weak spot. She loves winning prizes and gifts for her loved ones, especially her beloved familiars.
She saw a stall where a Mirror was setting up tin cans on top of each other, then handing the Pearlcatcher in front of him who's waiting three rubber balls. The Pearlcatcher raised her hand, positioned herself, and threw one of the balls. Miss. She threw the second, and got the can at the top. With her last ball she managed to hit the bottom left can and wrecked half of the cans. Though she couldn't get a prize since there were still a few cans left. The Pearlcatcher went on her way with a bitter smile.
Feratula watched the event and remembered the last time she played one of those games, and immediately tried to shake the memory off. She had gotten all of the cans except for the last one and had only one ball left. She missed the can with her last ball but hit the table instead, the ball bounced off and hit her in the eye. She went back home empty handed and with a swollen eye. Whenever people asked, she said that she got into a small fight with a grumpy vendor who tried to rip her off.
Instead of the games itself, she decided to look up at the prizes. She saw many plushies, reminding her of her babies, her familiars back home. Suddenly, a vibrant Mammertee Plushie caught her eye. She thought of Bambino, an Anomalous Nekomata she adopted just last week. He was a very shy cat and had problems warming up to the other familiars. This toy could help bring out the playful spirit of the little guy. Feratula looked down and saw three big holes next to each other, and the Ridgeback waving at her.
"Welcome, miss! Five balls, five tries, get them all in and you'll win a prize! Whad'ya say?"
"Oh I'll definitely give this a shot!" Now that she had a goal, Feratula was determined to win this game. She gave the vendor one coin for each ball. When she threw the first ball, she saw that the game was designed in a way to have the balls jump out of the hole if you don't throw it with the correct strength. Her second and third attempts failed too, but she got fourth and fifth in. She took out five more coins from her pouch. "Ah, I'll get 'em this time!" And she did as she said! She concentrated and calmly threw the balls, got all of them in.
"Congratulations! I've never seen anyone win the game this fast! You can choose any of the prizes above." He pointed at the various plushies above his head.
"I want this one, please." Feratula pointed at the round toy, the size of a watermelon. The vendor grabbed it with his cane and handed it to the Guardian. "Here ya go, thank you for playing!"
"Thank you too, and have a nice day!" Feratula grabbed her new toy, rather her familiars' new toy, and examined it while walking down the street.
