Biography
Eighth Member: Hayami
Hayami was not sure why her life was spared. One moment, she was about to get killed by a Plague dragon. In the next, she was saved by another Plague dragon. In the distance, she could hear her fellow Wind dragons and the Plague invaders fighting, but in her immediate surroundings, there was a lingering silence. Her wings were shredded and her body was covered in bloody gashes. There was no hope for escape as the Plague dragon approached her. "Do it. Kill me."
Instead, he spoke a few words that Hayami could not comprehend. The Imperial carefully lifted her upon his back and this time his voice came clearly. "We are both born of dark scales and feathers. Our absence will not be noticed in this night sky..." Hayami had no remaining energy to even struggle, and soon slipped into unconsciousness.
The Skydancer woke with immense pain throughout all of her limbs and body and fearing that she was getting tortured. It was daytime and nobody was on her. It terribly ached to move her head, but she had to spy her surroundings. With a quick scan, Hayami knew that she was on the border of Wind and Water territory. She spotted the Imperial that saved her in the previous night and suddenly the terror and trauma reentered her body. She also remembered his eyes that stared deeply into hers. They were not the eyes of a savage killer. The Imperial approached her and began changing her bloodstained bandages, which were made of makeshift grasses and leaves.
The next few days passed by slowly, but peacefully. Because of the injuries that Hayami took, her recovery would take time. Neither of them were knowledgeable about healing or medicinal plants, but the Skydancer did not mind. The Imperial brought more than enough food and water for her and was amazed by his kindness and generosity. She and the Imperial shared many stories and was amazed at how different their childhoods were. Hayami felt great pity for the Plague dragons that were taught to destroy, whereas she was taught to live freely.
On the fifth day, Hayami began to feel chills all over her body. She both sweat and sohok uncontrollably. Her wounds had gotten an infection somehow, and she was suffering from a fever. At first, the Imperial that she thought she had befriended was panicking. He cleaned out her wounds twice as many times as usual, and tried to keep her temperature stable, but nothing worked as she fell in and out of consciousness.
In the dead of the night, Hayami awoke to silence. The Imperial was gone and not even a scrap of food or water remained. It was kind of amusing to her. She thought she made a friend of a Plague dragon that tried so hard to save her life, only to be taken by the natural plague of infection. Maybe this was his intention all along...
