Biography

Zahara (Z or Zara ) the Zalis

Laurel took in Zara when she was just a chick, becoming the bird's family and flock. Together they formed an unbreakable bond. Laurel had always wanted to settle and find a mate, but has yet to find the heart she longs for in any male she has come across. Content with having Zara as her adopted offspring. For now, Laurel and Zara have taken refuge under Nightwing's wing in the Royal Nights clan. Hoping to live peacefully and in happiness. Zara could go join the wild flocks of Zalis if she wanted, but she refuses to leave the dragon who cared for her when the wild Zalis abandoned her.

Because what's weirder than a bat that can swim? Laurel didn't ask to be born into the water flight, nor did she ask to be coated in the colors of the seas. But it is all so. Laurel has turned her unfortunate fate into a blessing. Unlike nocturnes of the other flights, her hands and feet are webbed like that of an otter and her tail, elbows, knees, and cheeks have evolved to have fins. Her neck has slits for gills so she can breathe below the surface and remain under water for extended periods of time. All of these modifications were made easy by the nocturnes natural ability to adapt and mimic. It might be strange to think of bugs and meat that lives below the water, but Laurel finds and abundance of food for herself to feast upon.
