Grimoire's dark eyes and slate scales bring foreboding to those in his presence. How approachable he is perceived is not enhanced by his tendency to be a drake of few words. He dawns onyx roundhorns as a trophy from a kill in the past--evidently one of great significance to him although he has never told the tale. His body is battle-scarred and toughened by countless years of fights.
A typical Earth dragon--grounded and unshakable and as stubborn as a mule--Grimoire is not the dragon that you want to pick a fight with be it physical or mental. Once he has settled on an idea, it is very difficult to convince him of something else. However, he is loyal to his King and has great respect for authority--whomever it may be. His fellow clanmates joke and jest of Grimoire being death incarnate. They warn misbehaving hatchlings that if they don't behave then Grimoire will whisk them away to the Other World. He is shadowed by a Smoke Gyre even into battle--the bird's shrieks sounding the doom of opponents.
