B I O G R A P H Y

______ All was at peace in Harvest. It was a beautiful town where it was autumn year-round. The trees produced beautiful orange leaves, the mountains glistened at night, and best of all, the town was filled with joy.

______ Pebble was part of the Harvest community, and she loved every second of it. She was head of the medic team, and received praise for her duty to her town while getting to be with her team who she adored greatly. Yes, her life was perfect. But she, along with everyone else, had no clue what was in store for them.

______ On December 29th, a dark shadow called The Gloom overtook her town, causing it to become engulfed with a depressing atmosphere. As citizens ran around looking for their families, Pebble began to look for where she could be of assistance to. But no one could be saved, as for the people who had already been taken by the Gloom had no hope. At that moment, Pebble knew that even though her duty to her town was helping everyone, she knew that at that moment the only person she could save was herself.

______ As she ran past the people she had known all her life, she cried thinking about how she may never see them or anything from her town again. Tears running down her face, she knew that she couldn't leave this town behind without grabbing something that would be a reminder of the memories she experienced and could cherish them forever. But if she couldn't grab a person to save them, what could she grab?

______ Suddenly, something hits her hard, knocking the wind out of her. She quickly refocuses and looks around as to what hit her. Or rather, what she hit. She stares directly at the tree that startled her. She looked around, and noticed a low-hanging branch with many leaves attached to it. Quickly, she nabs the branch, but not without having to put effort into tearing it off. Because of how long she waits, The Gloom slightly effects her, but not enough to stop her, as she continues on.

______ After many more minutes of running, she finally escapes. She catches her breath, finds a stump to sit on, and sobs. She sobs for everything that she has lost, and she sobs because she is lost. But she knows that sitting around and waiting for a life changing moment will not happen. She must find these herself. So, she travels some more, looking for the nearest town.

______ After hours of walking, she finally stumbles across a bustling city with the sign "Welcome To Noledge!" in big, bold letters before what looked like a nice little town. She finds a rock to blend in with and sleeps, not knowing where else she could go...

______ The next morning, she finds herself on the couch of someone who she has never met before. Realizing that she's not next to the rock anymore, she jumps up and begins frantically scrambling for the door, trying not to disturb the dragons who live in the house. But right before she can open the door, she hears a voice and stops cold.

______ "Well good morning there sunshine!" he calls out. She turns around, eyes wide and mouth shut. She stares at him as he tilts his head and gives her a confused look. "Uh... do you speak, or am I going to have to do all the talking?" Still terrified, she manages to squeak out "Hi."

______ "Ah, good, you can talk!" he exclaims. "Now we can get down to business. My name is Unami. I am the leader of the city called Noledge, and I apologize for the slow introduction. My wife Tachi said she found you near the welcome sign, and we just couldn't let you freeze like that. I'm sorry if we spooked you here."

______ "Oh, no really, I'm used to the cold." She responded. "At my old town, it..." as she began to explain how cold Harvest was, she realized she simply couldn't. She got choked up, and a tear ran down her cheek.

______ Unami realized what was happening. "Sweetie, don't cry. I'm not making you tell me your life story," he says with a slight chuckle. "Now, why don't you tell me a little about yourself?"

______ Pebble considered running out right then. Why should she tell him all about herself when she's known him all of two minutes? Then again, before he knew her at all, he opened his heart (and his door) and kept her safe. She should have no reason not to trust him.

______ "My name is Pebble, and I am a medic. Being a medic is what I have always enjoyed doing, and I have no desire to quit. I also love mountains, especially at night when they shine."

______ It was then she decided to finally talk about her old town. As tough as it was, Unami deserved to know who she really was. After all, it's the least she could do.

______ "I am from a town called Harvest. It was a beautiful place, and always a perfect, chilly temperature. But yesterday, it was taken over by The Gloom. It will never be the same place it was before, and neither will the people. This is why I had to run away. I couldn't become the same people they were destined to become."

______ Her tears became a full blown sob once more, as she thought about her family. Unami watched as she calmed herself down, unsure of what to do. What are you meant to do after hearing such a tragic story?

______ "I'm so sorry that happened to you, but I promise your life here will be different. I know you said you're a medic, so we'll be looking into you getting hired for our local EMS team. We'll also find you housing nearby the hospital and fire station."

______ "You're not serious?" She exclaimed, unable to contain her shock. They must be insane for accepting her so quickly. Or maybe, she'll feel more at home than she thought...

______ Today, Pebble is head of the city's medic team. She gets along with her new team just as well as the one back in Harvest, and while the same happiness that Pebble had back in Harvest is gone, she has a new sense of pleasure that can never be taken away from her.
