and still through it all, i keep my chin up
i put on a smile to keep you from being dragged down with me!
so, as the dust settles and the scabs begin to form,
pick yourself up, and march onward!

it is a little bit tiring though, always having to remain the sunshine that beams through the dark clouds.
but i stay in hope that those rays will shine down upon someone.
it might bring even a little bit of light among the storm.
i suppose a smile from a stranger goes a long way!

Strange individual, to say the least.
she's always got that smile on her face. no matter how hurt and wounded, she'll always find something to giggle about.
problems and seriousness seem to be no issue to her, and she always has some sort of solution or reason not to worry. not even threats to her safety seem to bother her.
it's rather maddening, to be honest. she's like a sandbag that won't stay down. we can't seem to break her.
i don't know her name. whenever asked, she'd respond "i'm, ah... choo!", in the same vein as a sudden sneeze. she'll also "sneeze" out of nowhere with varying intensities. very annoying.
the clan has taken to calling her "sneeze" and occasionally "choo" or "chu", differing between each dragon.
there's no dust or pollen in the air. no matter where she goes, she's always sneezing. why is that? does she even have an answer? does she even have a name?
we don't actually know anything about her true "identity". her body resembles that of a female coatl's: slightly smaller and somewhat daintier, the feathers lining her cranial area stay low and relaxed. she doesn't seem to mind being referred to with any gendered or non-gendered pronouns, but hell would sooner freeze over than even the possibility of getting any sort of information out of her.
she won't stay focused and retains that dazed look in her eyes.
she doesn't appear to be fully draconic, either. her ears are enlongated and lopped like a rabbit's. her goat-like horns appear to be non-decorative, and we were able to prove they protrude from her skull. her tail is longer and somehow more prehensile than the average coatl's; by which, i mean, she hangs from trees like a spider monkey. and by the gods, her grasp on the humming language of coatls is awful, not even to mention her horrendous draconian. she seems to prefer nodding her head and making strange noises rather than actually speaking. don't get me started on the goat-bleats and dog-barks.
her hearing appears to be better than her eyesight, also odd for her species. she freezes up and cringes back at sudden vibrations and sounds, but rarely reacts to visible threats. i'd assume due to her freakishly long ears.
she does things in sets of four, never less. it could be four, eight, thirty-two... always four. once in a while she'll do a final extra step, as if to confirm her precision, the closing of a letter. if any error is made, she "sneezes" and starts over. it's highly obnoxious.
but there's always a rhythm to it. 1-2-3-4 1-2-3-4, or 1, 2, 3, 4. sometimes the tempo is higher and sometimes it's lower. we don't know what it means or what determines the tempo.
she enjoys painting and creating art. if she's not busy with something else, she's never relaxing, always painting. and the times she's busy are very few. she'll disappear for days on end and then suddenly show up with a new piece of artwork.
her art is always bright, colorful, and cheerful. it's like she sees the world in a multitude of pastel rainbows and she's trying to help everyone understand her vision.
but still, upon further inspection, something always feels off. it's like theres a hidden somberness hiding in the sunlight.
i'd ask her about it, but she'd giggle and paint a heart on my face again.

is she lying, or perhaps just ignorant? the circus won't allow her in because she offers no use and doesn't even pay attention to the show.
i want to stay away from her for the sake of my own sanity.
and yet, i'm intrigued.
