Utzu

It might have been a very bad idea to climb this mountain. Utzu finds that out a little too late though, as she’s already three days into the hike when she begins to have second thoughts. Luckily, there’s supposed to be a clan nearby where she can stock up on supplies! So Utzu hurries up to make it to that clan before sunset, so she can at least sleep in a warm inn and eat a hot meal before deciding what to do next. She makes it, just before the sun is completely set, and luckily the inn still has a room for her. Utzu eats a very good and filling meal, before heading to her room and falling asleep almost instantly. All that hiking does make you tired after all.

The next morning, she’s not quite sure if she wants to continue the hike. So, Utzu decides to wander the shops instead. She stocks up on supplies that she’ll need even if she decides to head back, and looks at some more shops before entering a tailor that is selling the most beautiful scarves, hats and robes. Perfect for the snowy top of the mountain. Utzu stares at a couple of robes, wondering if she should get one, when the tailor approaches her. “Hello dear, can I help you with anything?” And Utzu has no idea why, but she feels the words pouring from her mouth before really thinking about it. “I started hiking, to reach the top of the mountain, but it’s been really hard, and I don’t know if I want to continue.”, she says. “I was looking at these robes, thinking I could use one, but I’m still unsure if I even want to continue hiking.” The tailor nods, deep in thought. Then says: “Things that are worth the work are hardly ever easy dear.” and somehow, that was exactly what Utzu needed to hear.

Two hours later, she hikes out of the clan’s territory, further up the mountain. Dressed in her new robe.
