Biography
[nicely written bio to come eventually, said the zosonils for the thousandth time]
-when referring to them separately rather than as a single aberration, they're called arrow [regular head, she/it] and root [skeletal head, it/they]. their collective name kudzu comes from the species of arrowroot known for its incredibly aggressive growth rate. because of their unique predicament, they treat themselves as two separate individuals moreso than most aberrations.
-arrow is the only one with control over kudzu's body. root can move its own head and eyes independently and access their magic reserves, but has no say in where they go or how they gesture. naturally, this strains their relationship somewhat - root is understandably bitter about its lack of agency and often feels that kudzu would be much better off following its lead, whereas arrow is stuck in the uniquely isolating position of an aberration without much of a second half, and sometimes finds herself thinking of root as a liability or parasite keeping her from a 'normal' existence [though they do feel guilty about the feeling].
-despite all this dysfunction, the two don't hate each other, and in fact get along pretty well on their good days. they're both very protective of each other - arrow because root physically can't do much without her, root because defending arrow's dignity gives it a feeling of agency and usefulness. admittedly, the protective instinct on both sides manifests most commonly as needlessly butting in to nitpick at anyone striking up conversation with the other, but their hearts are in the right place.
-not sure why they're Like That yet. probably some freaky plague nonsense. root drank the forbidden soup and now they don't have skin i guess. much to think about
