A talented stone carver, Daeva takes pride in her work. What her buyers don't know is she is actually a malevolent spirit taking the form of a dragon. Stealing the souls of those who've wronged her, she curses them to live as stone statues unable to do anything but think and see. She chisels and carves the statues herself, it is her profession after all. She's the richest dragon in the Outskirts and the most selfish of all. She has a large extravagant home with grand pools and waterfalls around it, completely closed off from any other being. All the dragons living in the Outskirts resent her but know what she is capable of, so they can't do anything about it. Some try to tell her buyers what's really going on with her sculptures, but rarely does anyone believe them. Her home is always eerily quiet, with the occasional sound of a reverberating 'plink' of a water droplet echoing through the long empty halls. There is one area, a sectioned-off space dedicated to her most prized creations. The sculptures she thinks are far too beautiful to be sold. She keeps it exceptionally clean, not a speck of dust nor a stray hair to be found. Every once in a while she'll pop into the room to admire her work. Sometimes she'll swear she sees an eye blink or flick toward her, or maybe a tuft of fur move, subtle things no one else would notice, but when she looks over there's nothing. Daeva is very arrogant and condescending. She believes that she is the greatest who ever lived, no one topping her skill. She puts down others often for her own entertainment and ego. Even those who look up to or respect her think she is ill-mannered. They never say anything about it to her face, fearing the consequences just based on her temperament. |
