Mournewind was very young when he learned a harsh truth; no one takes a studious Obelisk seriously. They were usually seen as brutes, best suited to hard labor or fighting in the coliseum. But not Mournewind. No, from his earliest days, the only thing he hungered for was knowledge. His family readily obliged, but their acceptance didn’t stop the looks he got from other dragons, especially those from outside the city.

Mournewind had no intentions of leaving his clan, even on the bad days when the stares became sneers or scoffs. But he was quickly running out of reading material. Sure, he could wait for more books to come in, but the only books Cragenmire City got were mass-produced or handwritten by members of the clan. If he truly wanted more knowledge, Mournewind knew he’d have to leave. And so, with that reasoning, he packed up and left the city he’d lived in all his life for the great unknown that awaited him.

Now, he is all the worse for wear. The obelisk hoped for some peace and closure regarding his studious nature, but it seems he's fallen terribly ill - paler than ever, paranoia shaking his features.
