Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this little fruitloop wandered a little too care from her lair (94767, Sushimoss), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Leaving home - When Luciana was just a baby, she was brought into a warm home. Under the watchful eyes of the clan founders, Riln and Zaire, she grew up to be a live wire, never able to sit still. While she felt loved by her clan, she always felt that she was meant for something more. She had her fiery eyes set on one sparkling dragon, Anosekai. His crystal hide was radiant, and she couldn't help but be entranced. In her heart, she wanted to believe she was meant to be with him. She was lucky enough to find that he was interested in her as well, and it wasn't long until she was tending a nest of three. She loved her children with all her heart, but when they had gone off to new homes of their own, Luciana was left heartbroken. Anos did all he could to bring her spirits up again, but nothing seemed to help. After weeks of sadness, he suggested to her that she left the crowded lair. She was a child of the world, he told her, and she was too energetic; her home simply didn't have the space she needed anymore. At this moment she realized that she wasn't meant to settle down. She was meant for traveling, and a sudden urge to explore the world welled up in her heart. Luciana said her goodbyes, and with the courage she always knew she had, she set out on her journey.

The first stop - Luciana decided to travel first to the birthplace of her breed, the Windswept Plateau. As luck would have it, she was invited into the lair of a posh lair in the Cloudsong! Well, posh by wind standards, anyway. The outside was being painted in many colors when she arrived and walls were being torn down for rennovations, as the clan had just moved there from the much harsher Crescendo. Luciana offered her help and found it easy to forget her troubles in work. In her downtime, she enjoyed the gentle breezes of the Cloudsong and the sounds of the Mistral Jamboree celebrations held all over the place. She felt very at home here, and found flying here was both unpredictable and exciting. When an errant gust blasted her away from her hosts, she decided to see where the rogue wind took her and shouted hasty goodbyes to the clan and the friends she'd made there.

Up to the Sun - The wind blew her northward, careening end over end in an erratic pattern. She traveled many leagues before she was able to regain control and right herself. By then she had been blown all the way to the light flight at the Sundial Terrace where she landed in a rather disoriented heap. She stretched her wings apprehensively, wondering what sort of dragons she would encounter in this strange new place. There was a wide variety of them that greeted her politely but distantly. They had had a poor experience with female spirals: the last one ran off, leaving her hatchlings behind to fend for themselves, and it had left them distrusting of the natural energy of spiral dragons. They fed her a full meal and treated her courteously, but Luciana felt awkwardly out of place and was quite disappointed. She set out the following afternoon and never looked back. Perhaps the future would bring dragons like her close friends in the wind clan.

Entanglement - Unsure of where to go or where she'd land next, the spiral rode a gentle downdraft from the heights of Sundial Terrace into the lush greenery of the Shrieking Wilds. Perhaps too deeply into, as she quickly found the vine-laden canopy impossible to navigate or evade. Soon enough, Luciana was a tangle of limbs and wings, held hostage by the vines dangling just beneath the canopy. The jungle was unnervingly dark, and the ominous sounds of the forest were no less comforting. As she examined her predicament, she realized just how much her bright red and striking yellow stood out from the deep greens of the forest. She was a sitting duck! Or, a strangled noodle.

Being stuck in a tree has a way of encouraging reflection, even for the most hyperactive of spirals. As she dangled there, Luciana's thoughts drifted to where she once thought of as home. Her children, were they happy? Her mate, did he miss her? It occurred to her then that in her absence, Anos had likely moved on by now. It was a very unnerving thought, as she had cared for him deeply; but there was no helping that now. She chose this life of adventure, and despite the heartache, Luciana could not find regret.

It was then that she spotted a pair of shining green eyes peering out from jungle, belonging to an emerald-spotted spiral larger than herself. He approached her with a smile and warm greeting, and even a light chuckle at her expense. He introduced himself as Naseem as he cut her loose, a member of the clan she had stumbled into the territory of. He taught her how to maneuver through the trees, and though his clan seemed a private one, she was nonetheless greeted with warmth and hospitality.

After some time with the Dusk Dream dragons, Luciana took a shine to a handsome snapper with strong, sturdy legs and a deep, rich voice. His name was Taranis, and though he was a cold, aloof dragon, something about Luciana's amicable charm won him over. They were soon tending a five-egg clutch together, and the spiral could not have imagined a more secure nest than one under the Gladekeeper's own trees, with a strong snapper mate at her side.

Living in the jungle was certainly an experience like no other, but something called her. Something intangible, and something urgent. Though their nest was not yet hatched, Luciana knew she loved each and every egg dearly-- And yet, this strange calling could not be denied. Leaving her new mate befuddled and torn, Luciana hurried off to quell the calling she was at the mercy of, as it was the only thing that spoke louder than her heartache.

Starstuff - Wanderlust drew Luciana to an Arcane lair, but the dreamers proved a little too disconcerting - they all had stars in their eyes and magic in their hands and nothing ever made any sense.
