Barfolomew wasn't sure when it woke up like this, rotting bones, flesh and all. There's a hole in its chest where its heart is supposed to be, and its ribcage seems to have grown and frame the bite marks that do not seem to heal.

If Barfolomew really thinks about it, it realizes that it can't seem to remember much anymore. But that's no problem—they're alive after life, and what's better than to be alive?

(Teeth sunken into flesh, month after month—the burden of Barfolomew's heart is too heavy to bear, and when it comes back—oh, when it tears from flesh and muscle and sinew to reconstruct itself like a tumor in flesh and blood—the pain—please, Gods, anyone,

make it stop.)

Barfolomew's best friend is Ouroboros.

They're practically inseparable! Barfolomew thinks it knew this boy before the life after life. They must have been good friends—after all, Ouroboros cares for it like no other.

Sometimes Ouroboros regards Barfolomew with a sort of... sorrowful look. Always, it tells its friend not to worry; even if it will forget Ouroboros time and time again, it will simply learn to love Ouroboros as it had before. As many times as it takes. It will remember the next time, it promises!
