Once a magical adviser to a royal house, this creature came to define the ramifications of greed and the desire for power. Having no longer seen reason to follow beings lesser than itself, this fallen warlock tore through the palace it had briefly called home and left nothing in its wake.

However, even this could not satisfy the beast for it soon marked the Shadowbinder as its enemy. While allowing the Shade to overtake it, this monstrosity fought tooth and claw to no avail as the deity slew it and plunged it into the foul murky depths of the shadows.

Still, it was not too long after when a dark shape suddenly rose from the ground, withered and undead. Now adorned with gold and flame to light its path, the beast hungers with no satisfaction in sight. It lures the greedy and those lost within the Tangled Wood to its maw, never to be seen again.

It is even noted by a few Keepers who had the misfortune of coming across this creature (and the luck to have escaped it) that the treasure left behind by its prey is melted down in a conjured cauldron. Although no one has ever seen what it does with the molten gold, the Keepers have unanimously agreed that it is not worth finding out.
