Using his keen earth sense, Marbles is able to detect the presence of enemy tunnels and hidden underground footholds by the vibrations through the hard packed earth.

In battle he creates a dense protective armour of stones and bides his time before striking.

Backstory pt 2
It was certainly an...eventful...journey, with 4 impressionable Nocturne hatchlings determined to follow their Imperial protector, Aldazar, all the way to the end of his exile. The days were long and sweltering hot in the middle of the Shifting Expanse, not at all suitable for travel for a primarily nocturnal dragon species. The group soon adapted to travelling through the nights and sleeping through the days, hopefully after having reached a convenient burrow or rock fissure to escape the heat of the sun. When scarce shade could be found, Aldazar would create a makeshift shelter by propping up his wings and allowing the small Nocturnes to cling from its underside.

After nightfall, however, the young Nocturnes were boundless bundles of energy. Throughout the long lulls in action between enemy encounters they would dart across the starry sky in a never-ending game of tag. Scraps of fabric and strings of bone would often trade claws throughout these games as they were caught up in a loop of each mimicking the apparel of the others. Above all, they loved to practice their vocal mimicry skills to coax a rare smile or chuckle from their often somber Imperial companion.
