VelvetAsity

Velvet Astity is one of the providers for the clan, being exceptionally skilled in gathering food of all types. A reserved but amicable individual, he is a dragon of few words but enjoys the company of others, as long as he isn't the centre of attention. He has a secret fondness for icewarden plushes (even though the gladekeeper is of course his favourite deity) due to their exceptional softness.

While Velvet Astity's father did not stay around long enough to see him or his clutch mates hatch, his mother adored them all from the start. He recieved no less or more love due to his eyes, from her at least, and so while very young he didn't even notice there was something different about himself. It was only when he was old enough to join the clan proper that he discovered the significance of his gaze.

Not being the first in the clan to have primal eyes definitely helped, and he was taken under the wing of Bunting. She helped him a lot, especially given while none of the clan regarded him with fear or suspicion a lot were expectant of him to achieve great things, creating pressure. Under Bunting's guidance he was able to experiment, trying to find the manifestation of his elemental strength. It took him longer than it had her, but eventually he discovered his energies make him uniquely skilled at gathering food. Through his connection to the glademother, he is able to sense the best foodplants to harvest, the juiciest bugs to hunt down, the most tender meat and, most pressingly for his predominantly coatl clan, the finest fish to capture. Since first realising his talent, he has taken great pride in leading all gathering missions to provide for the others.

Velvet Astity met Oak while out hunting for more meat for the clan. The two were draw to each other, due to the similarities of Oak's floracat markings and Velvet's own primal gaze. Like all familiars Oak enjoys a measure of favour from glademum, and so when Velvet teams up for duo scavenging or hunting sessions they tend to have exceptional luck! They also both have a fondness for resting in warm spaces, so can often be found napping together in sunlight glades.
