Biography
PARAGLIDER
Trustworthy Breaker of Falls
Trustworthy Breaker of Falls
Not Link. The item he's holding as he's gliding. (You have no idea how many times I've died to fall damage in both games because I forgot I didn't have the paraglider at that point.)
This fandragon is specifically referencing the paraglider from Breath of the Wild, as the one in Tears of the Kingdom looks very different.

Paraglider, please?
I always liked the design. It's the same emblem for Revali's Landing and Flight Range. Anyways, his colors are perfect. You could even use his tertiary color. I like the idea of the wraps being used to reference its deceptive structure. Oilslick Patchwork is a great two-in-one reference on the Paraglider's design for all three games.
In regards to Tears of the Kingdom... if you're feeling particularly nostalgic, you can get this design back, if you know where to look.

Good ol' BotW paraglider! This is such a clever fandragon, definitely one of my favorite uses of Patchwork I've seen.

The amount of times I've falllen from the sky because I've miscalculated how much stamina I have left... What a coool dragon, chose great colours for the paraglider wings and they'lll loook even coooler as a WC, the bits of appparel are subtle but are such a nice detail to an otherwise fairly naked dragon

You have a lot of good references, but on my first scroll through, this was the first one that caught my attention cuz it's so interesting. Link's Paraglider as a dragon! Really nice idea, and a great use for Patchwork!

I have never seen a fandragon for the Paraglider, and you pull it off really well. Good luck with the Wildclaw scroll!

I think I have the opposite issue you have. I immediately took to the paraglider so much so, that when I played any other open world game I'd continuously keep forgetting I didn't have a glider and tried to jump great distances...
I think he'll look really good as a wildclaw, the colors are really pleasant to look at and match the inspiration quite well.

I love seeing unusual fandragons for popular fandoms. There's a lot of Zeldas and Links, and Ganondorfs. But never have I seen a paraglider fandragon. Love the use of patchwork here.

I cannot believe you made a fandragon of Link's paraglider from BOTW. This is HILARIOUS I love it.

This is a really creative fandragon! The paraglider is one of the many things that makes traversal so much fun. Patchwork works really well here.

Now this is a fandragon I never expected to see! Oilslick patchwork has the perfect hues and stitches for the paraglider's cloth, the linen wrappings are an excellent detail, and even the Pearlcatcher pose matches how the wooden frame is shaped. Overall, this really is a wonderful dragon to represent an indispensable item.
...Speaking of which, I actually missed the paraglider early on when I started TotK, having breezed right past Lookout Landing on my way to explore the geoglyphs. When I met Impa and went up in her balloon, and she assumed I already had it, I got really confused... and subsequently fell to my death several times trying to jump out and land in a nearby lake. Seldom have I missed a video game item more, lol.

Player's notes:
Originally belonged to Neodevimon's lair!
He was a very lucky grab off the AH for 20kt, how could I not buy him?
The idea of making a paraglider fandragon came to me at like 1 AM, probably. It is probably one of the best and worst ideas I've ever had.
11-30-2023: I was curious and checked if anyone else had a paraglider fandragon. Unless I used the wrong search term, it's just me????
