Biography

Lore:
One week ago
In the dead of night, Kaveh trudged towards his house. Well, it wasn't really his house; it belonged to Alhaitham. Upon reaching it, however, he discovered that the door was locked. "Typical," he muttered to himself, shaking his head.
His night had already been rough when he had found out that Alhaitham was wearing his limited-edition Weasel House slippers- especially when Alhaitham could just buy as many as he wanted. Then, when he told Tighnari and Cyno about it over some drinks, it had spiraled into them getting the entire tavern to pester him about being jealous. As much as Althaitham had for him to feel jealous about- his status and his riches, to name a few- Kaveh didn't quite feel that way. Of course, all he could do was wait until Alhaitham returned. So, he sat next to the door, adjusted his cape over himself, and waited. Before long, though, he felt himself drifting off to sleep.

Kaveh was standing on the porch. He took a step forward, only to see the sky rapidly changing from night to day. Panicked, he rushed between the civilians walking in the streets, hoping one of them could explain it. However, each one recited simple statements about their day-to-day, their voices unwavering. Suddenly, the sky stilled.
The blond traveler Kaveh had met during the Parade of Providence walked through the streets. Kaveh approached him, only for the traveler to disappear with a strange noise. In his place was a tall woman with a long purple braid and a strange lavender robe. Then she disappeared, and Kaveh was face-to-face with a perfect clone of himself, except for the glowing cyan-and-white claymore across the clone's back. As Kaveh stared in stunned silence, the clone suddenly locked eyes with him. Without warning, Kaveh heard a strange sentence coming out of his own mouth. He had never heard himself say it, yet the words flowed from his mouth like he had rehearsed them hundreds of times. His clone shook his head, before vanishing into thin air.
The world swirled around him, fading to white, then black. Finally, Kaveh was standing in a dark void, filled only by towering strings of ones and zeros, mixed with hundreds of names and phrases written in steady text. Within the waterfall of text, Kaveh could see his own name, followed by hundreds of strange words and numbers. Tentatively, he reached his hand out towards it, his fingers barely brushing against the text.

Kaveh woke with a start, the morning sun beaming down towards him. Still slightly drowsy, he rose to his feet. "What had that dream been about?" he thought to himself. However, as he lifted his head, the world in front of him seemed to flicker, as if everything he looked at had been sliced open to reveal the strange code within. "Perhaps the traveler might know what's happening." Kaveh told himself. With that, he set off.
As Kaveh walked through the streets, he listened to the people around him, the monotonous sentences they repeated as they walked. He almost walked into one without thinking, but they simply tried to continue their straight path, eventually pushing around him and continuing forward.

Kaveh continued his journey, walking through the wilderness of Sumeru. However, he was quickly ambushed by hilichurls. In a moment of panic, he shut his eyes tight. Suddenly, a flash of green light appeared before vanishing. When he reopened his eyes, the hilichurls had vanished, with small objects in their place. As Kaveh picked one up, it turned into a mask in his hand. "Not the strangest thing that's been happening." he thought to himself as he put it in his pocket.
He continued on until he saw a strange statue. It was a strange hourglass-like shape, with four prongs at the top. Its red glow occasionally fluctuated to the familiar but strange text. For some reason, Kaveh was subconsciously drawn to touch it. When his fingers made contact, he could see some of the text change as the glow changed from red to blue, the statue rising up slightly.
As Kaveh leaned closer to the statue, he could see the lines more clearly. Based on his experience with Mehrak, he now recognized it as code, each line seemingly corresponding to a different behavior of the statue. Suddenly, the world seemed to slow for a split second. In a moment, the traveler had appeared in front of him. Kaveh could see a name floating above the traveler’s head, the words “OreganoKing” persisting as others took their place.
The traveler turned towards him with a blank expression. Suddenly, he began swinging his sword, clearly in a panic. “No, wait! I don’t want to fight!” Kaveh cried out, stumbling backwards.
As Kaveh was trying to escape the traveler’s frantic slashes, his foot caught on a tree root. As he fell, he held his arms out, his hands making contact with the code. Without thinking, Kaveh mentally reached out, trying to access the power he had used against the hilichurls. In a flash of green, the world seemed to glitch before disappearing entirely.

As far as Kaveh could see, he and the traveler weren’t alone in the void. In fact, it seemed like only the ground and sky disappeared, leaving everything else nearby intact. Still, the emptiness was quite unnerving. It didn’t last long, though, as a tear seemed to form in their dark surroundings. At first, Kaveh tried to flee, to reach an area that hadn’t been erased. However, all he could see was the void. After that, he simply gave up running. After all, why should he stay in a world that had been erased- and by his own hand, too?

Bit of extra lore:
The gray Tundra sat next to a Pearlcatcher, her deep purplish wings wrapping around her grayish striped body. "Look," he said, gesturing to a Skydancer on the other end of the cavern. The Skydancer wore a strange but elegant outfit- a white shirt with a V-shaped neck, black pants covering white and gold shoes, and a red cape. He bent in concentration over a piece of parchment, his nimble tan claws sketching a blueprint of some kind with a thin stick of charcoal. Strange beeping noises came from a book-shaped device lined with gold filigree as it created a shimmering green illusion of a building.
"His determination to find normalcy in his current state is admirable." the Tundra continued. "But yet, I don't think he knows the truth."
The Pearlcatcher looked confused. "What do you mean?"
The Tundra gave a wistful sigh. "He has abilities that I've never seen before- abilities that have the power to destroy this world. The Realmmirror and I have a feeling that he may even be responsible for the rift that brought him here."
"Then why are you letting him stay here, if he's so dangerous?" the Pearlcatcher asked.
"Because it's clear not even he himself knows the full extent of his powers." the Tundra replied calmly. He gestured back over to the Skydancer, who seemed to enter a moment of frustration. Upon slamming down his charcoal, it glitched before disappearing. Then, the Skydancer looked around in confusion, as if trying to find the charcoal once more.
The Tundra nodded. "This naivety towards his full capabilities is both a blessing and a curse. On one claw, he's nowhere close to intentionally deleting this world and its inhabitants. But on the other claw, it's what he can do by accident that's still worrisome. However, I do wonder..."
"What?"
"His powers seem to stem from the very fabric of this world. Not its elemental magic deep within, but perhaps something we can't see. If we were to teach him how to hone his powers for good, then perhaps he could use them to create instead of destroy."
The Pearlcatcher nodded. "That's a wonderful idea."
