In the west wing of the castle you come across a room filled floor to ceiling with shelves that are stuffed with scrolls and parchment. A desk occupies one wall, sitting just next to a well made bed. Sitting at the desk is a blue Coatl, who you now realize is staring right at you, the quill in his claws hovering over a scroll. The silence stretches on for what seems like ages before he frowns deeply and shoos you out.
Charlie is a rather odd sort. Completely mute, he communicates through written notes and sign language. He was brought to the clan at a young age, where he started to hang around the clan's librarian, Utun. Though hesitant at first, the Snapper soon warmed up to the young Coatl, teaching him to read and write. And oh, did he love to write! He would go around to different clanmates, transcribing everything from fighting techniques to cooking recipes, to what healing herbs did what. He loved every moment of it. When the clan was forced to relocate to Isle Tallulah Charlie lost everything, and for a while he fell into a state of depression. It was not until a new dragon, Isra, was brought into the clan that he started to cheer up. He would tag along after the Treasurer, helping write notes and eventually he fell back into his old routine of recording clan traditions of all sorts. Nowadays he lives within the castle, accompanying Xander to meetings and transcribing the events that follow. |
