~~~Aren Introverted + Peaceful + Kind Aren hummed to himself as he dusted the cat fur off the feline shrine. A record was playing quietly in the background. A few cats were curled on the cushions surrounding it as they dozed off. Others were lying content in various boxes and hideouts that he had constructed for their use. Stepping back, he nodded in satisfaction at his work. Glancing at the clock, he knew it was time to prepare his offerings to his beloved deities. Cats were already beginning to gather. Aren smiled and gently pet each one’s head as he prepared their meals. Each one was meticulously crafted with the finest ingredients and carefully tailored to each individual cat’s needs. Then, he took his rolling cart to the room where he kept nursing mothers separate. He refilled their bowls, weighing each kitten and making notes. He would check them again in a few hours. He stepped out back into the hall. Purring could be heard wherever he walked. As he settled into his favorite chair, a few cats crawled over to join him. Now this… this, he thought to himself, was heaven.

JinxJou, or just Jinx for short, follows Aren everywhere. She was adopted as a sickly kitten, and Aren nursed her back to life - she was the first to live in and be worshiped at Feline Mannor, and she decided to stay by his side. When Aren discovered her desire to fly beside him, he bought her a specially designed set of wings. She'd do anything for Aren.

It was a fine morning. The winds were strong today, but each breeze merely caressed Arens scales. Aren was a wind wildclaw, bright orange with small green firefly-like stones embedded in his scales, and he was about to venture out on his own for the first time. How exciting! No longer would he be forced to participate in the rituals created to honor the Windsinger; no longer would he have to play with the other hatchlings and be pushed and shoved around by them. He was an adult now and free to do what he wanted!
Aren spread his wings and took off, relishing how the air currents flowed around him. Being a wind dragon meant he was very in tune with the air, having an innate understanding of how each breeze affected the next. Flying was the most enjoyable activity that was permitted in Windchime Clan. As he flew, he thought back on his life thus far. He hadn’t enough personal items to bring more than a leather satchel with him, due to all things beautiful and enjoyable being taken from the hatchlings and given to the Windswept Lords – the dragons who ruled Windchime. They said it was to be sent to the Windsinger as tithe, but Aren never believed that. He'd seen Karo add a confiscated feather to his feather crown once. That harpy feather belonged to Arens friend, Illana. He remembered how she cried. She ran away from the Clan that night.
A strange screeching sound jolted Aren out of his thoughts. It was… there! A falcon was diving towards a small shape on the ground, too far for Aren to fully understand what it was. He’d never know what made him kill the falcon and save the little shape, but he’s forever glad he did, because this was nothing more than a baby creature, bleeding, unconscious, and close to death. He hadn’t known what it was but felt a strong urge to protect the poor thing. Aren picked it up and placed it in his satchel, in a bed of feathers from the falcon as he had its meat for a snack.
Two days later, resting in a kind nature clan, he was taught that this creature was a cat. A kitten more specifically, since she couldn’t have been more than a month or two old, and she was a girl. They let Aren stay for as long as he liked while they taught him how to care for the kitten. She was a sad little thing, grey-black and hairless. Apparently, that’s because she was a Sphinx cat. Aren named her JinxJou. JinxJou absolutely loved Aren as if he were her mother, but she’d always get despondent when he’d fly and she wouldn’t be able to.
The two journeyed to an arcane clan to see if anything could be done, and there was something to be done! The arcane clan taught him some arcane in addition to the wind and nature he already knew, and showed him how to make mechanical tools. Aren used these skills to make JinxJous wings, enchanted so they would never deteriorate and so she could control them just by willing them to work. She mastered them almost instantly.
During his time at The Clan Evergreen, he ate up every bit of knowledge he could find on cats and felines in general, read every book about cats, and bought everything he could that was related to cats. It was here that Aren developed his deep love and intense appreciation for the feline race – even began to worship them. These creatures were truly deserving of his love, of the highest quality of life.
He lived with this clan for many years, eventually building Feline Manor and taking in many more cats, whom he now calls Deities. Aren worships these deities with all his heart and has dedicated his life to them within The Clan Evergreen. It is a wonderfully peaceful place, regardless of the shenanigans that often occur within the Clan itself, and Aren and JinxJou are happy here.
