Born here, Sanguincapillum was immediately drawn to Aude. He rarely left her side as a hatchling becoming almost a second shadow. He always knew he wanted to help guide others, though his incredibly quiet nature made it hard for him to approach others in his youth. Sanguin was largely ignored by his peers until Bonita noticed him managing and reordering the equipment stores one day - a job that he had clearly been doing for some time without anyone noticing. She drew his management and organisational skills to the attention of the clan leaders and helped him to find his voice when dealing with others. Quickly, he became more assured. He began to work for Bonita in her library and for Glacies in her laboratory, saving them uncountable hours with his organisational skills. Bonita and Sanguincapillum remain the closest of friends to this day.

It was only after his friendship with Bonita that Sanguin found the courage to talk to visiting dragons in the teahouse. In particular, he found an amazing rapport with a curious spiral dragon named Aurumetsanguis. Initially her eclectic philosophical speech confused most of the other dragons, but Sanguin seemed to understand her right away - he is a creature of logic, and, despite the way she goes about it, so is she. It was she who initiated courtship with him and despite their vastly different natures they fit together like puzzle pieces.

Sanguin is good at picking what a new dragon needs and directing them to the clan dragon best suited to helping them. Day to day he manages the lair and teahouse finances as well the administration, ordering and storage of general supplies for the lair. Lacuscorusco manages most of the food; Sanguin supports him and helps to make sure they have the best suppliers for items that must be sourced from outside the lair. Sanguin also keeps schedules for any of the dragons of the lair who require schedules, such as Aude and Gnothi and the travelers Morumfluvine, Locusnoctem and Spyro (he tries to keep a calendar for Aureusnoctem, but that is not an easy task). In particular, he keeps laboratory stock in order for the researchers and organises his mate Aurum's philosophy texts so that others can also use them (her organisational scheme is... unique). He also loves birds and adores birdwatching. Some of the others tease him about his perceived 'lame' hobbies, but his companionship with Bonita and pairing with Aurum have led to the revelation of a cheeky sense of humour, and those dragons who enjoy teasing him have begun to find the occasional strange (and hilarious) incident befalling them. Since the improvement in his confidence Sanguin also speaks out more when his carefully maintained order is disrupted. In particular, this results in fairly regular confrontations with Sanra, Lacusnox, Procellanix and Cinderscape. It is strange, given her tendency towards mess and generally being his opposite, that he rarely bickers with Aurum, but for whatever reason they accept everything about each other and make an adorable albeit unusual couple.
