Biography
Sheridan was found floating unconscious in the open waters between the Southern Icefield and Ashfall Waste, draped over a wooden board. The crew hauled him aboard and tended to his wounds, keeping a close eye on him until he finally awoke a few days later.
He didn't speak common draconic, which wasn't too surprising for a Coatl, but didn't seem to speak Coatlish either—Stormsurge made many attempts to communicate, being more or less fluent in several languages, but to no avail. He clearly wasn't mute, as he was making plenty of angry hums, chirps, and growls, he just didn't make any sense.
It took a while, but the crew eventually managed to calm him down and convey that they meant him no harm. They figured he'd been in a shipwreck, and was possibly suffering from a head injury of some kind. For some reason, he really gravitated towards Mokuba, who was not at all thrilled to have a stranger within arm's reach at all times, but reluctantly tolerated the strange Coatl, considering he hissed at everyone else who got too close.
The crew has no idea what his name actually is (if he ever had one in the first place), but they started calling him Sheridan, courtesy of Mokuba. He later explained that "Sheridan" means wild and untamed, which seemed fitting enough for such a feral individual.
Sheridan loves seashells and similar shiny or colourful trinkets from the sea—the crew each took turns gifting him random shells and pearls until he finally warmed up to them, and although there's still a language barrier between them, he's gotten quite comfortable with the crew, and often does his best to mimic whatever everyone else is doing—his way of trying to be part of the family unit. Unfortunately, he usually ends up causing more problems than he solves, but they appreciate him anyway.
