Toliman was originally raised to become an exalted servant to the deity of their parents' clan, but was then pushed to become a trainer for other future exalts when their birth clan took notice of their fighting prowess. They went along with it for a while, letting others determine their path for them. But eventually, they decided they didn't have the taste for this type of devotion or conflict. Let the deities fight their own battles, they thought, and made off with a like-minded undertide they met while in route to wherever they were to be assigned as trainer. The two hired a third party to pay off any fees and made off to a small, quaint island in the northwestern area of the Southern Icefield. Well, Toliman made off, dragging a bewildered Laden in tow. However, the undertide has yet to make his grand escape so they figure he'll be sticking around for a while. |

Exploring their new home with their newfound freedom, Toliman has taken to art like a fish to water. Sketchbooks and various artworks are stashed around their cozy little home, and they can frequently be spotted with a smudge of ink or paint on them. The most notable is the large mural painted across the back wall of their main living area, an elegant castle made of ice with a neat row of polar bears along the front. If one looks closely, some of the bears seem to take on characteristics of some residents of the island. Their personal favorite, however, is a much smaller painting hung next to the window of their tiny kitchen. As first glance, all that can be seen is the rolling waves off the coast, but a closer look reveals a hint of a green, serpentine shape gliding through the water. It's messy, and there's ink smudged on one corner from where they had knocked a bottle onto it, and they love it. It's one of their very first finished paintings, and Laden had spent hours swimming back and forth across a small stretch of coast to "pose" for them as best he could. |
